Great job so far guys.
Any chance of making a version that could be played like a single player experience? or even a version that can be shared so others can create their own servers locally for friends to play on? Is this even a goal for the project or simply to create what was already there

A very long time ago there was source to make your own server. This project just concentrates on fixinf the bugs so we can all play the game together.

Yeah but sometimes a hand or two is all you need to have some fun.

Warhammer is without a doubt more fun with others. I was only asking because JeFawk was involved with War-Emu and this is in some ways is War-Emu continued. With that mentioned it says on the War-Emu site ...
"Where is the server ? How do i connect on it ?
War-Emu is not a private server !
Our only aim for the moment is to code an alternative game server so that everyone could make is own private server. "
Just liked the idea was all. I want to see the RoR project to take off and become successful as i know everyone here does, I also would like to see an emulator made down the road as well.

Thanks.

The emulator is here, not down the road. It's just not public anymore. I never could understand why it was open source to begin with....

I understand that we are playing the emulator and that you guys are providing a server for people to play together. What I don't get is why not make that tech public for the fans? A free emulator download would be awesome for people to have if not just to be able to reminisce... that's good thing right? One day when you are an old man you may get tired of hosting a server and someone else may want to take the reins.

Are you or the team thinking of making a public server.exe file eventually? I'm just asking for a way that allows people to host their own personal server.

Okey, I cannot answer almost any of your questions right now because it's Max that's hosting it, also it's Max that made the git repository.

Thanks man fair enough
Before discovering RoR ( which is even better btw )..... I had read this article in which a WAR dev describes a single player version that exists in the code.

I don't know if that supposed code is accessible within the build or if it somewhere in the hands of EA.

not within any released clients' 'code'. It's an internal standalone.exe sitting in one of ea/mythic hard drives which reads the data from the myp files. does nothing, but allows you a walk through the deserted (no npc'/spawns/etc.) old world.
