Feedback/issues with Salvaging

Writing this here as I have contributed several Bug Reports concerning Magical Salvaging results on BT but little response, and also one report we were directed to create forum post instead of BR.

Many players have noticed there has been a change in salvaging results where salvaging purple frags have been changed/not implemented as live, and I believe there have been a few short mentions of this here and there by devs.
It was previously known and understood that PvP sets were normally rated as epic piece and to salvage one would result in a purple fragment.
On live, all influence gear and all armor sets would salvage purple fragments.

Situation now is that many PvP and PvE sets are now salvaging into lesser 'type' fragments. Talisman prices are sky-high right now and only real chance to salvage purple fragments is from doing dungeon runs which leaves the rest of PvP players out of luck or flat broke and still not have competitive talismans.
So for PvE sets not even Beastlord is allowed to salvage at all. I have to assume this is intentional. Opening this up would improve the frequency of those runs.
Numerous other examples of sets/pieces I cannot salvage like RvR Influence items, Stalker and PvE sets.
Also not helping is that when purple items are dropping in PvP you would have to 'need roll' in order have a chance to win one (for salvaging).

It was my understanding that when Vanquisher/Oppressor came out that all the sets lower than that were downgraded as far as salvaging went. My guess is that now you would have to salvage Vanquisher/Oppressor in order to get those fragments now, and that they will in turn be downgraded when the next level of armor is released.

if it's selling from merchant, it's blue.
easy to get = low quality

when everybody have 180 armor and 24 stat talis, it's not rare.
also, related to powercreep.

Problem with that logic Anarchy is that merchant items are also items from RvR gold and purple bags. Also merchant items are in no way easy to get, unless you suggest 10's to 100's of hours easy. Far more difficult and time consuming to farm RvR gear than it is to farm PvE dungeons.
Powercreep - powercreep exists because some players have access to gear which others don't. If the playing field was more leveled there wouldn't be as much powercreep.. For some reason that is scary to so many players (it's not scary it just means that they will no longer be privileged and that scares them).
