Exploiting fortress respawn

Killing on respawn in fortress is exploit or gameplay "feature" ? Thanks.
Considering how the forts are designed its a feature. Though i agree its a rather poorly thought out feature.
Would make more sense to give the attackers a small WC spawn where they have NPC guards etc.
) for farm on spawn.
