is opressor the best gear for 2h or should i run a mix of it and dominator or sent?

There is no such thing as bis for 2h tanks. Oppressor is a damage set but offers very little survivability which you will need for doing scenarios or most anything.

I use 4 pc vanq 3 pc redeye. Here is my knight.

You can tank alot of burst damage with this setup. High armor, high resists, lots of anti crit, good avoidance.

Other options you can do include
5 pc conq w/regen rings, (the build Dill runs) (Much lower armor/avoidance, more sustain for longer fights)
Sentinel set 5pc + speed proc for mobility
3invader/3sentinel/redeye mix and match with sentinel ring/invader ring (alot of farming) Probably best setup but most farming.
5 pc Dom: Full glass damage setup similar to oppressor. Being this squishy doesn't really work unless you play with really good healers.
4 Pc beastlord: More damage alternatives
6pc vanq for group def proc
Oppressor 3-4 piece mix and match.
Overlord mix and match if u got it
Oppressor beastlord sentinel str stack mix and match.

A billion options for gear with just slightly different stats for each.

I like to roll in full redeye, winds of resistance, and subjugator 2hnder, all defensive talis when I'm supporting mdps. It's not the best Solo or w/e but keeps me pretty safe. The 7 pc proc and speed help some as well.

should a 2H knight also use tough/armor talis?

There is no correct choice for talismans. Wounds/Armor/Toughness/Strength are all viable.

what my renown should be like?

Renown suggestion :

- Max parry (20 rp),

- Max Deft Defender (20 rp),

- Futile strikes until you're confortable with under 0% crit (5-30 rp, 1-2 lv)
If your stuff (like Vanq+RedEye) is enough to bring you to 0% to be crit, you got Runefang tactic so you can only rely on it + avoidances and spare renown by not taking FS at all.

- Then it leaves you with about 10 to 40 rp to spend in offensive renown ; melee crit could be a good choice if you run in defensive build, since you can buff WS and Str with Runefang tactic. Also crit tactic for sweeping slash will give you 10% more crit if you hit.
But you'll never have too much WS anyway (arguably less needed for a elemental dmg build) so Blade Master may be useful (at least the 3 first levels, for 10 rp it's a bargain
