Looks like the game is write protected

Go to folder and unwrite protect the contents and sub folders

Got the same issue after the last patch, was running fine yesterday.

I try to uncheck the "read-only" from the RoR folder and after I apply the change, I still get the same error.

However when I go back to the RoR folder I see that it has reverted the "read-only" to checked in the properties on its own... weird but now I cant play the game anymore... help pls.

Ok so I managed to fix it by doing the following:

1) Moving the game to a more direct path file. For example mine was F:/Games/RoR and I moved it back to just F:/RoR

2) Used CCleaner to clean to do a fresh clean of everything (including old registry items tied to the game).

3) Opened the game by using the RoRUpdater rather than RoRLauncher

Had to re-input my credentials but now I am playing fine. Don't know if the second step was necessary but the game is working fine for me now.

You have to change the attributes also to all the folders in which the WarHammer folder is located because the attributes of the upper folders have priority over the folders they contain.
