I have never been in forts.
When it's fort time i just stand near portal and click.
I am 40/60 without any invader medallion.

You have to do something to enter, earn contribution in last zone or play during low pop hours.

I think it's because you're called tailbone. It's always at the back between the buttocks. You're setting yourself up for fail right there!

Don’t worry mate you can enter forts, participate and still walk/crash out without any medals

I was a little confused when I started. But generally you have to have participated in the ORVR area before the fort battle in order to participate. Now ofc you don't have to(at least I don't think you do), but people that do get a reservation timer to ensure only people who contributed are ensured participation. The timer is about 5 minutes to allow people to get to the portal. So you have to wait 5 minutes before anyone else is allowed in (if there's any room left).
