Return of Reckoning

Hey guys,
I’m a new player and been running with a KotBS and I enjoy being support and guard bot but for the time I usually get to play (EST NA) I see myself in a lot of solo situations. I don’t see KotBS helping me in this case.

So my question is which classes can handle their own in solo and are not completely useless in wb? I usually play tanks/mdps but I’m keeping my mind open.

The only real solo class on Order / Destro are Witch Hunter / Witch Elf
The other ones are more or less used in a different way to somewhat playable solo.
Stop the WoW PvP thinking on WAR, its a game made for group based pvp that there are even classes that can do good in solo is strange itself.

Solo:

Tank - IB (getting weaker solo with progressive sets and defensive stats)

mDPS - WL or WH (WH probably better for solo, but meh for wb)

rDPS - Engineer (getting caught alone in the open sucks, but otherwise a pretty great option)

Healer - AM (switching between heal and dps will let you solo and group just fine)

Asw ( super mega easy )
Wl ( super easy )
Ib ( hard to play )
Am dps ( not easy )
Wh ( medium difficulty )

Question, what makes IB hard to play in your opinion? Is it because of mechanics or amount of skills to keep track of?

Because it got grudge mechanic ( which means your can use several skills or turn em with higher value when yours grudge ratio in high ) also IB got lots of toys which make it not easy to play.
Armor debuff , lots of self/friendly stats buff ( armor/ws/though/str/willpower ) reduce enemy crit or pump your crit , challenge taunt punt and kd ( punt requires grudge ).
Ib is a very fun class to play either in grp/solo.

Generally what makes a class easy is how much effort you have to put into it (no class is THAT hard). IB has so many abilities for different situations that it's silly.

Managing your resource isn't hard, but you're reliant on it. You have to switch your oathfriend to whoever's getting targeted to maximize your resource. To maximize DPS you have to maintain your 3s DoT, and weave in tons of self buffs.

There's just a lot of management to an IB, so having a visual on your buff timers is pretty crucial.

EDIT: Granted, this means when played right you're coming with a class that can solo pretty damn well with one tree, as well as put out respectable DPS.

Being as I pretty much exclusively play WH I'm a bit biased, but I find it very rewarding. A successful gank against a juicy target who didn't see it coming still gets my heart pounding. The biggest obstacle I've found is (and maybe this on me) that there is no 'one build-kills-all.' You can be a caster specialist, or dps, or (which is my usual build) a menace to all but the most deftard/fully-geared tanks. If you try to run them all you'll be depending on a lot of luck when you jump them.

Don't try to compare it too much to WEs, where the two classes excel are a bit more different than a lot of people realize. How WE's Kisses proc and the fact that they have several 'double strike' abilities (which means 2x the chance to proc kisses, 2x the chance to crit, 2x the chance to KD) makes them far burstier than WHs.

Ultimately: I find WHs fun, viable, and challenging. Just remember -- you live and die by the detaunt.
