Hi all,
I played Live for a bit but only played the Greenskins. I've noticed the Order could use some back up & I'm looking to heal. Does anyone have a pro/con for Archmage vs Runepriest?
I can tell you on a whole, without the pros and cons list that RP is objectively better as a straight healer.
Runepriest
Pros
-Instant Cast main heal
-Chain-AoE HoT
-Master Runes for party buffs
-Individual buffs
-Very powerful healing tactics that synergize well with instant heal (25% bonus to all heals, bubble chance for every heal)
-Can be very hard to kill (dwarves have good defensive tactics)
-Very mobile
-Majestic beard
Cons
-You're a dwarf (???)
-DPS spec is difficult to gear for
-Honestly there's not a lot of cons to Runepriests as healers.
Archmage
Pros
-Potent stationary single target healing (clutch healing if you're into that)
-Best Snare (AoE)
-AP drain
-AoE resist buff (useless with KotBS in party, though)
-5s Silence
-Has a decent DPS spec (I enjoy it a lot, but you'll get a lot of hate) that's not hard to spec for.
-Beautiful hair
Cons
-You're an elf (???)
-Pretty stationary, with some long cast times and channels
-Squishiest healer bar none
-No AoE HoT
-Hybrid spec currently neutered
AM is a fun class, but RP is just.... better. AM doesn't bring the utility and raw healing potential on the go that RP brings. They're still viable and fun, just not as good.
