There's no good reason for a new player to have to deal with this non-sense.

Can't keep up with the zerg so you get ganked until you can afford a faster horse. I mean, what is this? Who the hell thought this was a good idea?

Yes because those players that worked hard on getting the faster ones should understand that new players need to be equal to them. This game is free! So should be everything! And fast! And equal, everything balanced.

I suggested pig mounts that randomly walk in different directions. Let's see if we get those first.
