WP pve

Hello,
im relatively new in the game and was looking for a class which is decent in aoe farming (butchery/gold).
In older forum post (which i found through googling) alot of people suggested WP as a viable option, however
since they are old im not really sure if its still possible.
If yes, which masteries, weapons and tactics should one be using?
Or is engi just outright better at it or easier?
