New dismount

I <3 the devs and the effort they put in this server. With this said, I must say that I sincerely think that the "new" dismount mechanic, even if intended, should go. A good mechanic is one which adds complexity to a game. This one only adds frustration.

+1 I don't like having to try to time my jump each and every time I walk over steps in IC. There are areas like the tunnel in Blighted isle pvp lake that are buggy, and will demount you sometimes and other times not. the old demount system was fine

I like that you are dismounted inside bank, AH, Monolith and Citadel.
Dismounting on Apex stairs and in pathways to and from Apex area is silly however and certainly could use some tweaking or removing "speed ticket zone".

I also keep on wondering: in city siege are players going to be dismounted when riding thru Apex area? It's on the way from destro spawn zone - Undercroft, order spawn side, despite being "under roof" is not affected by it in the streets and corridors leading to the city. And if so - is Market place in Altdorf going to be affected by similar mechanic? Or the corridors and gateways leading from War Quaters to the city? Seems only fair to implement speed police on the stairs there...

The dismount mechanic is fine indoors and in caves where you aren't supposed to be able to mount.

But please for the love of Khaine change it so that it doesn't dismount you when you enter Apex in IC. It's pretty clear that no one on the dev team tested this change in IC prior to pushing it out. If they had or if they even spent a small part of their playtime on destro I don't believe for a second they would release it as is.

I've been told multiple times in the past when I suggest something from live should be kept as is that 'this is not the live game ' , yet with this issue I've been told 'The objects which dismounted were what were marked by Mythic'. If this isn't the same game as live, why not use some common sense and remove the dismount from objects that clearly shouldn't have it?

We were not dismounted on apex stairs and gateways to and from apex area in Live ;)

Well, that was the justification they used for closing the bugtracker report on this. . .

I guessed as much. Live was for 5 years and just because Mythic flagged something and left it in code does not mean we should have it turned on.
If that was the case in-zone flight paths and flight animation should make it's comeback :)

The only places that really need forced dismount is crowded areas near AH, flightmasters, bankers, mail posts and career/renown trainers, everything else is just for "immersion" sake without any real gameplay reasons.

Maybe riding on a horse into a house doesn't make sense, but being dismounted while entering a cave so big that you could fit a steam tank in it also doesn't make much sense.
Or accidentally stepping on some stairs and getting kicked off your mount.
