Return of Reckoning

Killed the npc in the PQ and got its cursed skull. Dropped it near Manfreds Hold and nothing happens. Can you please reset quest or give me credit to continue. Character is Sharise. Thank you. Or is there something I dont know as I followed quest instructions according to quest entry log.

For me it happened that I somehow received the skull but not the kill count.

You don't need to have the quest reset. Just go back to the PQ and kill the guy again to get another skull. Make sure to drop it right in front of the main door to Mandred's Hold. To do this you just click on the skull in your quest inventory. I made the mistake of dropping mine off to the side and had to go back and run through the PQ again, so I know this works.
