[Squig Herder] Melee Squig Herder questions

At what number does ballistic skill stop transferring to STR for mSH and Ranged crit to Melee crit Ranged power etc. Learning MSH now and looking for some advice. Also what is the best way to renown spec after using futile strikes to get chance to be crit to 0%. Talismans to use Armor combos etc etc. Thx in Advance!,
