Return of Reckoning

Doubtless this topic has been raised before, but I have to question...how does it make even the slightest degree of sense that I could just spend 12-15 seconds pounding on a stealthed witch hunter (time guaranteed by champions challenge) and then have him vanish into thin air about a second after the root expired?

And in a roleplay/realism context I also question how it makes any sense that the other 2 people standing within 20ft of me could see me hitting something they can't see and not work out that theres a wh there?

Nothing on the career builder explains why 10+ seconds of beating dosnt break stealth, why they vanish again while still being attacked, or why my character wouldnt notify others nearby of their presence
