there was accident duel at reik event SC.
i thought new SWs might be interested.

my gear is 6sov+2war. 1k BS, 160 tactic was replaced with -10% defense.
don't know SH. he's 80+, i'm guessing he's BiS too.
here's some comments about combat and rotations.

range debuff first on approaching SH. detaunted pet. KD on goblin. first fester shot + acid.
then he got in range, KD on me.
despite it was expected, i mistake BHA+sting combo in hurry.
that's first 15sec.

i used second festering upon getting up. couldn't remember if VoN or not. because..
FA was INTERRUPTED! wtf!? i got little panic.
but what else i can do. just another festering.
he was about 50% and i was near death. at this moment, didn't even notice what skill was hitting me. still confused about interrupt. was it pet?
in desperate move, i used usual finisher combo : FtW right after FA. then died.

while i was on the ground dead thinking '**** did i lost? despite BiS?' briefly, he died.

tbh, there's rumor that SH had advantage when dueling against SW.
and i always thought it's who shot first game.
long ago, i had duel with Big Shooting SH at the keep. it was same, i died first, flight arrow finished SH later.

so, conclusion
if you think SW is good, fester bomb is order bias, SH's as good as SW.
in ranged duel, it depends on who shot first, who dodged more.

ps. Steady Aim was on.
ps2. soloing is like sparring. usually i don't use pot. bad habit.

Well thats a big post about how dont duel sh, dont gear up sw, and dont drink estus in duels, and non existing rumors.

the FA interrupt was probably red tipped arrer.

like SW, SH has kd, disarm and interrupt. that's why you don't want to long cast anything against it

turns out SH was only warlord+vanq...
and one of bloodlord weapon

i don't think duel result had changed if SH were sov+fort
but would have slightly better performance.

it's very different ( cuz of pet ) yet similar classes.

You tried 3 times festering with a relative long casttime while the spiked pet is just another namen for "I set you back 10 times before your castbar ends and make 2seconds feel like 1min".

Then the already mentioned chance to get interrupt.

While you get same amount of attacks on them then he on you, his Pet hit's you 9 time (for 1570 damage)

And if I countet correct you have ~500 less hitpoints.

Maybe Steady Aim also costs time due to no AP but only a possibility

ps.: loosing a fight this close and not use pots i would have grudge on myself

strangely i didn't notice set back.
probably at 3rd FA there was set back by Lots o' Arrerrs
but 1st was free cast. 2nd interrupted by Red Tipped Arrer.
maybe 2nd cast were delayed by set back b4 interrupt.
though pet channel was when i was KD.

I never awared about set back of 2sec cast.
I often evacuate and seek next chance when get hit.
duel was rare moment, have to cast while getting hit.
set back was good point I missed.
but it maybe 0.5 delay i think.
not that critical except duel.

Just saying but 6 off sov 2 war is not BiS. ATM the BiS for RSW is 7 off sov (despite it being a bit less efficient than on SH) + 2 triumphant (with jewel lul) or 2 Sent.
