Destruction, first time class for beginners and general tips?

I played originally on release but never got far, been trying out some different classes but haven’t got the feel for it yet.

What classes do you recommend first play through?
Any general tips is welcome!

All classes are needed in the endgame and are welcome in party/warband setups (maybe witch elf might be a little bit harder to find a spot in an aoe group).
So: watch videos or play some classes and find out what you enjoy the most.

Short answer is play what you like. Everything can be made to work although some choices will limit your options somewhat. Previous posters example about witch elves vs aoe warbands is good one, also healer classes using off/dps spec are strong solo but might be less welcomed in groups in general. If you don't know what you like, you could make multiple characters and take your time to mess around in tier 1 for a while. Queue scenarios and head to whichever tier 1 rvr lake theres action at the moment if you want to see how your character plays in pvp. Some classes will become online later than others though but towards the end of tier 1 they have few of their key abilities already.
