Return of Reckoning

Hi all
I have question regarding public quests and influence gain from them.
Today i have been in 4 pubic quests areas and didn't get even a bit of influence.
My question is do i have to be in party to gain influence or can i do it solo.
If i can do it solo then how to gain influence ?

PQ's aren't working atm :/ just after server restart you can do the kills to get a bit influece
