I posted on the bugtracker a question I asked Gamemaster sioding on Discord about the sudden disappearance of the purple seeds.

Here is the gamemaster's answer.

You can't do anything. Those things happen.
You need to be lucky again and get a new seed.

Why?

Unfortunately this is a legacy issue that has been unable to be identified and fixed, despite (probably 100's) of tickets. We're fully aware that this can happen and it's unfortunate, and equally annoying, but right now we don't have the means to fix issues caused by server DC's.

In regards to getting the item back - we don't refund any items as a global rule, just so we don't get flooded with requests.

Idea to fix purple seeds:

1- Plant a purple seed.
2- Server give you a token for this seed
3- When you harvest the seed, the server take the token.
3.1 If you have not the token, the seed cannot harvested.
3.1 If server crash when the seed is growing, you can purchase a new seed in a new NPC with the token
4. Everyone is happy with his Purple seeds.

My wife lost a purple seed a year ago, and we are very scared when we plant it, so we are not planting the seed to avoid lost it Is the Schrödinger's seed, it exist or not depende on the moment
