Weekend Warfront: Woods of Woe

The rugged land of Caledor has long withstood assaults by Druchii and daemons alike. Mighty dragons slumber beneath its peaks unaware of the struggle waged above their heads. The Druchii have arrived on the shores of Caledor once more, but this time led by Malekith himself. The forests of Caledor will know the sound of war.

Millennia of hatred writhe through Malekith's broken body, rejected by the flames of Asuryan. To this day he curses Caledor Dragontamer for what Malekith sees as a betrayal of his father, Aenarion. Malekith strikes at Caledor with an insatiable longing for vengeance against the kin of Caledor Dragontamer.

This weekend warfront Woods of Woe will be the weekend warfront from 12:00 on Friday to 12:00 on Monday Altdorf time. You get +50% XP and Renown in the Caledor Woods scenario, and extra rewards from completing the event tasks.

War Report Improvements

The War Report feature has now been improved to send players to Warcamps in RvR Lakes when they teleport to RvR hotspots.

Previously, players War Reporting to Keeps/BO's might instead be sent to the nearest PvE camp, some of which have no flight masters and are quite a long run from the RvR Lake.

In short: it's finally safe to War Report to Dragonwake again.

New Player Experience Quests

48 New Crafting Introduction Quests have been added to the game, eight per faction. These Quests begin in Chapter 1 or along the road to Chapter 2, and guide players to the Chapter 2 Crafting Trainers, who now all have Quests. These include:

- Butchering Introduction Quests to kill mobs to Butcher

- Scavenging Introduction Quests to kill mobs to Scavenge

- Cultivating Introduction Quests which grant two free Seeds

- Salvaging Introduction Quests which provide 10 free Shattered Figurines to Salvage

- Apothecary Introduction Quests which provide a free 60-minute buff Potion or an HP-over-time Potion, and 3 Potion Containers

- Talisman Making Introduction Quests which provide a free defensive Talisman, and 3 Talisman Containers

Four new NPC's have also been added to the game on the roads between Chapter 1 and 2 camps, who will grant players the Quests to go talk to Gathering and Crafting Trainers. These include Craftmaster Ekan for Chaos, Craftmaster Eternes for Dark Elves, Craftmaster Nirudson for the Dwarfs, and Lil' Craftyboi Squiggles for the Greenskins.

NPC Location improvement: Two Dwarf Trainers - Cultivator Balagil Axegrinder and Scavenger Bergul Chiselstone - have been moved slightly in the Dwarf Chapter 2 camp to make them easier to find.

The suggestion for Crafting Quests came from members of our community, so a big thank you to those who recommended them! We hope these quests will aid and guide players in the future as they begin Gathering and Crafting.


Dyes

In the coming week(s) we will be making updates to the dyes in the database as we continue our work cleaning up and expanding our dye collection.

This includes, but is not limited to :

- Adding dyes as items so all dyes exist as items for players to trade (yes we are aware Snow White dye was recently bound to players and are considering a solution to this)

- Updating dye names from 40k to Fantasy

- Updating the base dyes at the dye vendor interface

- Removing non-RR dyes from the Very Special Dye vendor and rewarding players these colors through gameplay

- Revisiting dye rarities/vendor sell prices.

Certain colors will be associated with live events (such as the recent dyes introduced during the Feast of Shoika live event), whereas other colors will be available in world drops.

Finally, we hope to reintroduce dye-making in the future (as part of the apothecary profession), but we still need to work on this. If you have a color based on the Warhammer Army books, Roleplay books, or other Games Workshop material, that you would like to see in RoR, please contact your local Community Manager and let them know.


Quests

A repeatable (weekly) quest has been added for those who were unlucky and drank their Pocket Keg or ate their Spicy Mushroom. The quest is available from the same npc who gives 'Taste and See' or 'Gud Eatz'. Please do be careful in the future and consume responsibly.

New RR80 Congratulations Quest

All Renown Rank 80 and above characters are now eligible for a short bonus quest.

- The rewards for this Milestone Quest include a voucher for a free 30-day Guild Mount, Guild Coins, Stalwart Soulstones, some gold and a choice between consumable Potions and Fresh Liniment Crates. The "Specialty Mount Wrangler" NPC will accept the voucher for a 30-day Guild Mount.

- New RR80's will get a mail with a Quest item to use that activates this quest.

- These quests are also retroactive, and existing RR80's can head to either the Altdorf Library, The Lyceum in The Inevitable City, the Order of the Griffon Headquarters in Karaz-a-Karak, or the Raven Host Command in Karak Eight Peaks, and speak to the Records Keepers to purchase this quest item for 1 gold.


Upcoming Milestone Bonuses

With both early level Milestones and RR80 Milestone bonuses now added to the game, our next step will be implementing rewards for mid-range Renown Ranks.

Look for smaller rewards that will also include some War Crests as we add Renown Rank 40, 50, 60, and 70 Milestones in future patches!

nice QoL Changes and nice new player experiance quests. Sever getting better by the week.

Finally i can port averlorn without fear PRAISE SIGMAR!

(No Sacasm now) guide new players to use the advice chat - make that kinda more visable in loadingscreen tipps or even a quest. dont know why many people use this game feature.

If Dragonwake war report was problematic you should've fixed exactly that instead of ruining other locations that offered convenient fast travel to certain keeps.

Very nice QoL changes !

Nice to see crafting quests ; crafting is not very hard nor complexe in this game, nonetheless it will surely help new players to understand how to practice those useful trading skills ;)

Glad too that finally everyone got equal treatment for War Report ; many areas were ultra problematic for one faction, while very convenient for the other, and vice-versa.
Now everyone is equally accessing this option. It's also more convenient for people to quickly repack in warcamps, instead of having to lose time in various chapters after a WR.

More access and tradeability of dyes will be welcome too ; I hope all previously "bound to player" dyes will be tradeable, instead of collecting dust in our bank slots :p

Finally, nice to see new ways to earn some guild coins and such, for most small guild weekly quests are very hard to complete in reliable manner...


Many thanks for all this work, while hoping to see a bit more bugfixes in upcoming patches as well... ;)
