New crafting Profession Idea.

Hi, While having a chat with friends regarding haw to make this Game, a bit more in-depth and have new goals to achieve, we came to an idea of creating a new crafting profession.
The idea revolves around upgrading existing armours by having to gather materials of some sort to increase the item level of your Items.
Example: we have an annihilator armour set, and we would like to improve it so that the stats and set bonuses would be increased to mach the higher sets. The person willing to put in the word would be forced to gather some sort of materials. To increase each armor piece level and going 1 level at a time for each piece.
This would allow to add more depth to end game BiS concept, and also provide goal for players that managed to acquire all the sets and having no idea what to do in game with their crests.

Problems with the idea:
- Who can improve the items, since armor pieces are Bind on Pickup you can’t trade it to crafter to get it improved, which would force every player who wonts this to be forced to level this craft which is not the goal?
- Should the max level of items be limited to SOV item level or each tier should have its own limit?
- Where the materials required to improve items, be gathered from. PVE / PvP, or mix of both?
- Should there be an option to increase the number of set bonuses or set pieces, example would be adding the Boodmoon jewllery piece to bloodlord set, if such items exist?
- Is 1 item level at a time a bit of overkill?

Not saying this is a good idea, but for the first problem just make "Anihilator Improvment Kits" craftable an tradeable and people can use it on their set.

Maybe we could at some sort of items you gather in pvp and upgrade to the next tier set? Lets call it... War Crests?

Blacksmithing i think would work best if you could alter the stats of the piece to customize it as your own, but for balance sake the item that is customized should be lower in grade power - AKA no super Sov grade blacksmith gear.

Lets say.....Maybe around Vanquisher power?, but you get to choose the stats it has carved into it.
I personally think some Willpower gear for SM/Engie could be interesting, push a small niche "medic" play style.

The gathering skill should be simply mining ore nodes like you see in the game, the reason for this is because Tanks really lack a profession at the moment.
All of them require DPS which the class doesn't have and the one which doesn't is Cultivation and that's mostly useful for healers.

On a side note: Cooking / pies as a profession - That was alot of fun :D!
On a side side note: Cultivation should have plant gathering built into it, all the ones you find in the world could be collected for seeds, make it more interactive.

Just some fun ideas id thought id add.

Its similar but from my understanding, its regarding all items and upgrade from Blue to Purple to Gold, rather than upgrading item level of existing sets.
So its similar in some sense. Have to say that some ideas in the pinned post are interesting, like creating upgrade kit which can be applied (like a talisman) to item instead of upgrading the item itself.

I’m not saying to modified stats or bonuses, just improve the amount of stats and strength of procs provided.

Also regarding Willpower sets for SM, that won't work, the heal you get from your skills and tactics are not afected by WP or Healing Power.

Please no. The only thing I would wish for crafting, is that you can learn both gathering professions in addition to the main skill.

the bake off - quasi gave a new profession - cooking - that would be cool many buffs for wb so the profession stays relevant

Well, this will be the best new thing in the game ever. Great idea.
New craft.
All armor sets matter.
Super good "carrot" for BIS players.
