I'll add a bit of flavour with a spec I always get back to, since i don't like regen DG very much. Basically you'll want 6 sov 3 triumph 2 genesis (or 6 sov 3 senti 2 genesis if you don't have triumph jewel yet) to be a stat monster. I like to see it as a solo duelist-old school setup.

Tactics: you switch according to target
- allround (tanks, other melees, SHs, multiple encounters): BF, flowing, blessed blades, fanatical cleansing. You got BAL and chain absos to put a lot of pressure on your target, sometimes it's useful to add a 2 point burn heretic as well if you're lucky with flowing; and ofc, you still have TbP and your defensive tools like RB and shroud. Also works with BF, flanking, blessed, fanatical, especially on soft targets who you might ambush and kill before the end of the first rotation, like squishy ranged SHs).
- casters: BF, vindication, blessed, fanatical (you pop out of stealth, do your opening rotation with stun/anytimer/bal, pop shroud of magnus, enjoy the disrupt bonus. Works with zealots and shams who will cast on you to try to run away). Bullets: ini debuff, sometimes heal debuff when you know the sham or zealot has good healing spec/equip
- heal doks (or sham or zealot that you know they will detaunt and try to outheal you = no disrupt to enjoy): BF, encourage confession (you switch to heal debuff bullets), blessed, fanatical.
With BF tactic + full str talis (bar one wounds if I'm not mistaken, I'm at work so I can't check ingame), fortress sword, bloodlord pistol, RvR event item, 4% melee crit tali, you can reach 1050 str (cap), 35% crit and around 8400-8500 hps. Add a blood liniment (or cottage calf pie, I amassed like 120+ when there was the event) and you can get 5% more crit to reach 40 crit and 9000+ hps. OR you can opt for the poor's man version with savage vigor lini to still add 5% crit plus a bit of tough; OR you can add wounds/mp lini; OR you can put less str talis, more wounds and use str/MP lini, or Str/wounds lini. This is up to you and your financials, but in almost any of those cases, your overall stats will be excellent.
Very flexible setup, very effective in 1 on 1s: you won't be a marvelous "I killed 3 pros in one inc", since you don't have heal bullets and DG to replenish your health, but 1 on 1 and 1 vs 2 you're a DPS beast with great defensive tools. Just use health and absorb pots to stabilize when target is good. Everybody nowadays run DG+regen, just give it a try and you might like the playstyle

I do!
