Server Wipe/Fresh Servers?

Will there ever be a server wipe that resets progress and emulates a fresh launch? I'm just curious to know the stance on something like this as I know a lot of my friends would look forward to something like this, but I can only imagine the most active players these days probably wouldn't want to lose all their time and effort testing the game.
