Return of Reckoning

Hey guys returning player here. Played this game live (never got to t4 though) and I played some RoR. I have an issue in mom's when I start out, I have an issue picking a class. I have most classes in this game leveled up to 15ish and I never decided on a main. As a noob here (not in mmos in general) I feel I should probably avoid healers and tanks for now and learn the game using something less integral to the survival of waebands. So I'm stuck on deciding between a Magus and a Squig Herder. I'd like to play something that's useful endgame but isn't screwed when alone or in small groups, and I figure because 90% of what I see on destro is melee dps or tanks rdps is the way to go. Which of these two would you guys recommend to someone new who wants to play a class that has some support or utility groups want?

Cant go wrong with either one. Both are fun and effective in all forms of PvP/Pve. Magus Is Stationary caster or at least if comparing to SH. Both are Pet Classes, Magus needs his pet to get 20% Dmg buff also Pink Horror Has 370 Elemental debuff, and all your hard Hitting Single Targets are Elemental dmg. Has cast on the move skills as well.

Always have pet on Passive meaning you need to use attack(Mousewheel click i use myself to attack with pet) Pets work better if they are under Passive more than anything else and dont take that much more out of you.

Squig Herders are the Kings of Kiting and they have alot of Semi highdmg/mid range Skills on the move + Great Dmg with pet if you use Spiked Squig.
