Renown grind / War crests

Hi,

As a new player who rejoined a couple months ago, I would like to say that the leveling up of the Renown ranks feels way too slow.

I can't really try other classes because it would take even longer to get Sov gear on my 1st character.
And the amount of war crests we get is not enough as well.
I will miss almost half of the crests to buy endgame gear, so why ?

Plus, tanks and healers can't buy the several versions of gear because it is too expensive.

I enjoy the game, but sometimes it is really frustrating to think about the grind.
The actual Renown boost this week should be the normal Renown gain phase imo.

I know nothing will change about that, but I had to say what I think :)

There few lifehacks to speedup crestfarm.
1. Do a event slot on events like pies so you will get +50 from weekend event.
2. Get quests for fort win. Its +100 per 3 day.
3. Do one fast pve city run with friends. 75 on soulstone from rvr quest.
4. Play lotd, even in lose its near 60 scarabs that saves you 60 crest wasted on pots.
5. Even if you dont have party for city, atleast enter it and watch what will happen. If its shitshhow no one blaming you for leaving. If its win you will get a big crest boost.
6. Try to play rvr in your racial zones. Its x2 crest on lock for you there.
7. Dont waste crest on pvp gear, with new ch22 theres bilion viable pve options that will save you ton of crest. At 67 buy 3/4 parts ranked, at 78 buy sov or what you need.

Something like that

Usually if you do all this till 80 you will get near 10k crest.

Long/chain rvr quests that granted vanq/invader instead of costing crests would be a huge help to new players. Most people skip both sets now, especially Invader.

completely agree about crests.

Even with all lifehacks from second post the amount of crest is really bad.
I did few chars around 75 and 2x80+. They journey with renown is acceptable but amount of crests is not going in pair with renown. I am always lacking many many crests to buy warlord/sov not even talking about 10k ring while i have full pve wards till invader.

It should be revamped somehow but unfortunately ppl who suggesting changes to Devs (its not Devs fault!!!) are veterans with full gears farmed who like to farm not geared new joiners :)

When you don't buy sets above annihilator and renown weapons above rr34/39, you will have enough crests for your endgame gear until rr78.
One could argue and ask, why is it necessary that you are forced to skip sets to save for endgame gear, to keep enough crests.
The PvE sets are a decent replacement but it indeed devaluates all lower ranked PvP sets.
The 10k crest rings are not really mandatory and can be seen as an endgame goal to minmax your gear. Before this point you can adjust your gear to get the "must have" bonus.
Earning alternate sets for different specs is once again a long-term goal.

A player with experience will take about one to one and a half months of play to get to 80rr and get the best equipment, and that's assuming a fairly tight game and luck (but we all have work and other things to do, so we increase this time to about two months). A newcomer will take much, much longer and it is not a fact that this newcomer will not burn out during the game and will not leave. And we realize that the most fun of the game begins only when your character is dressed in the best equipment.
It's too long and tedious here.

Not to mention the general idea of private servers for the past decade have been faster progression so players could enjoy what made the game fun, but the progression here is still far too long for newcomers that might find interest in the game.

Quite true, but other mmorpg's have more varied content than WhO, all sorts of “seasons” and stuff, unlike WhO where all the content is just about pumping different classes over and over again until you get sick of it.

You don't need the best gear to have fun playing with others. :)

You don't. But it is rewarding to be fashionable.
