[BG] Beginner tank looking for tips with dungeon tanking

Hello,

I'm almost 40 with my Black guard alt, and I would like to ask for some advice for dungeons tanking.
I will start with Gunbad of course, but I'd like to progress until Bastion stairs.

Right now, I'm trying to use the build from the "Warband-ready Destro Class Guide".
But maybe there's something to adapt.

I have a few questions in mind, because I'd like to be effective as a tank.
What skills I should prioritize to build good aggro ?
Is there a big difference in the core rotation for single and multi target ?
Should I max toughness as much as possible, or wounds ?

Thanks for your help ;)

Play 2H, Parry > Wounds. Slot the Tactic called Menace. Renown is full Parry, FS until around 0% Chance to be Crit, then Opportunist for Crit Chance.

Shield tanking is entirely unnecessary in PvE, less efficient for speed and Threat Generation, and in many cases less efficient for survival.

Oh ok, I wasn't expecting that.
So I guess I'm gonna try what you're saying.
But what build I should use and the other 3 tactics then ?

Universal Shield build for low lvls, has enough saves to give your healers window to stabilize. None Shall Pass also give you additional threat for big packs of trash mobs.
I would suggest 2h at 70+ with enough gear to stack parry/wounds. It gives you infinite 1200+ armor debuff, but require good Hatred management.

Between bosses keep your guard on aoe dps, like mara, choppa or melee-SH - guard transfers a potion of their threat to you. Concentrate on aoe skills, they generate enough aggro because of socialized mobs. That's when aoe snare come in handy - you can use it to control mobs and give yourself better positioning. Never waste Challenge or M4 if all mobs sit on you and party is ok.
On boss use Taunt non-stop, maintain Armor debuff and keep Challenge for adds pop. Also use Aggrometer to swap guard on most threatful dps.
Good luck!

Use Enraged Beating to create a threat to a single target. It deals significant damage and helps maintain aggro.

block blast
