[WE] Can't WB?

I keep seeing where WEs are undesirable in WBs.
Is this true?
Is the same true of WH?
Is it something built into the class?
Can it be resolved with practice or playstyle adjustment?
What, if any, would be the proper way to play either of these classes in a WB?
I'm old, and I have a mangled hand, the speed of solo play gets away from me.

Both of those classes are specifically designed as single target killers. As such, they don't really have a place in regular warband play. There was a spec for WH that was viable for WB play, but I don't believe it is used currently.

It's not your class that has no place in WB, but you have nothing to do there. An AoE wall against another wall is definitely not the best choice for you. The stealth class initially has a different gameplay. This can be played solo or in pairs (group) and this is precisely the fun of playing in this class.

witch and wh has in bad spot noone serious (outside pug) dont whant tham because they cant bring aoe. when game aoe was 9 targets than there where also 1 st grp who focused on healers byt now when u aoe everyone and everhywhere and stay safe, witch/wh lost their uniques. even choppa/slayer/mara (nomatter how their complain in forum has always wiable builds depends of gameplay) what lack witch/wh. 3 dam st treess, 3 st builds. and 1 aoe finisher vs for example mara who can be what he whants.
p.s game is not focused 1vs1 or 2vs2 like wow where rogue can shine. game has focus on wb (now heavy zerg) bringing wh/witch into wb u have dps loose and also u will not be guarded (personal expierence)
p.s.s its shines when server has small fights when server is half dead (i hope server will not die) or when bunch of witches attack box carriers 3vs1. bad spot

WE/WH are not desired in wbs for much of the same reason as they aren't really wanted in sc's. And it has nothing to do with whether they can aoe or not. It's the stealth mechanic that makes them passive and they sit back and watch the fight like they are in the audience or something. For example imagine playing as destro and having 2 choppas and 2 we as the dps in your sc. The sc will start and choppas will attack and they can be seen. The we's will stealth up. Next the choppas get focused and killed because well, that's the only thing that order can see so they kill them. Meanwhile the we's are stealthed and then usually right after the choppas die, the we's will finally attack something. But it's far too late at that point. So then the we's get focused and they die next. I've seen this sort of thing alot and thats why i dread to see more than maybe 1 we in an sc. However they can also be very good but only if they are aggressive at the right moment. And not be too late

There is an AoE build that you can use. It's not "amazing" because you're hitting three targets until On Your Knees (which hits ALL targets within a 45ft radius), but it allows you to add pressure while not skulking in the background.

Add some debuffing tools:
1. 4pc TRI for TOU AoE debuff when proc
2. Armor debuff dagger for AoE debuff when proc
3. Kiss for -120init AoE debuff when proc
4. Morale debuff and pump every 10s. With 5 this becomes 45ft damage radius on target (target can be up to 30ft away).

Single Target is undervalued even in large scale but even there, WH/WE don't really shine in that role compared to SW/SH, etc. In coordinated stuff like 24v24 City, the class is very good.

Can it work in a warband? Absolutely but it's a lot more effort than other things are right now.

According to Warhammer Lore, Witch Elves are "the most cruel of all the Dark Elves, for they are the female cultists who live only to serve Khaine's malevolent demands for bloody, agonizing sacrifice."

Which means Witch Elves don't have time for all the back-and-forth hot blob on blob follow-the-leader action endemic to and typified in Warband play. Witch Elves are unique as an entity, a persona which should be indulged in.

Do not worry about trying to find your place in a warband. You don't need the warband and the warband is not worthy of you.

Witch Elves are suited for small group play, as in a roaming group comprised of more Witch Elves or a balanced six-man for either roaming or SC's. In those realms you will find your true potential and thus greatest return on your game-time investment.

I am sorry to hear that, truly. Please take my comments in the spirit of respect they are offered. Even with a limitation Warbands simply are not the best place for a Witch Elf. It isn't just a question of spec or build, it is also a question of support. To survive the mass-action of multiple warband scrums, Witch Elves need a decent level of support from the warband. Typically, that isn't support the warbands are easily willing to give.

On the side note, indeed some of the most fun you can have as a WE in ror is WE-only 10+ group. I suspect order players only really understand the essence of pvp, after while running solo suddenly 10+ WEs manifest around them. Or say, around order 2man looking for soloers. Devs really should enable cross realm chat again, would add so much excitement to the game.
