Introduction

Hello everyone! I’m providing access to my personal VPN server located in Singapore to help players who experience high latency and connection issues, especially those outside Europe. Many players face lag due to poor ISP routing, and this VPN may help improve gameplay, particularly for players in East Asia, Southeast Asia, and Oceania.

How to Check If the VPN Helps Your Connection

Before using the VPN, test your connection to see if it improves your latency:
  1. Check your current ping:
    • Open Command Prompt (CMD) in Windows.
    • Run the command:

    Code: Select all

    ping thorgrim.warol.net
    • Note the ping (latency) result.
  2. Connect to the VPN (see instructions below).
  3. Check your ping again:
    • Run the same command:

    Code: Select all

    ping thorgrim.warol.net
    • Compare the results:
      • If your ping is lower, you may experience smoother gameplay.
      • If your ping is higher, it's best not to use this VPN.
Reminder: VPNs are not a universal fix for network issues. Problems may be caused by your device, router, ISP connection (wired or wireless), or even your geographical location.

How to Use the VPN
  1. Download and install the OpenVPN client:
  2. Download the VPN configuration file (OVPN):
  3. Import the OVPN file into OpenVPN.
  4. Connect to the VPN and enjoy!
Usage Guidelines
  • For Warhammer gameplay only – Please do not use it for downloading files, streaming videos, or any other network activities.
  • Bandwidth is limited to 5 Mbps per user to prevent abuse and ensure fair usage.
  • This service is completely free – Do not sell access to it.
  • This will remain free unless I decide otherwise.
I hope this helps improve your gameplay experience. Enjoy, and play fair!

Hey!

Just a couple thoughts on this:
• You can easily restrict users to specific usage by blocking unrelated destination IPs or managing routing rules, rather than just bandwidth limits, for example just routing the RoR-service via this VPN would make it more specific to just RoR-use.
• Also, I believe the server checks the source IP to determine if an account is locked to a particular realm. So, if you’re not assigning each user their own source IP, you could inadvertently lock users into one realm or the other.

I just tested it, I'm outside Europe, unfortunately my ping doubled with the VPN on.

hi thanks for your feedback, soon I'll add that ip restriction, I don't have a list of ip to whitelist yet so for the meantime that'll do for now and for the source ip I already tested it with my two accounts with different realm, joined rvr and it didn't lock me hmm, maybe I'll wait for more feedback and do some testing, thanks again!

hi, ror server is located in france so if you're near in france than singapore then it won't definitely help but if you are near singapore like me with bad network routing (I blame my ISP) it might help you
