Return of Reckoning

Hello everyone,
I am currently playing with my Squig Herder and am actually having fun.

However, I would like to try something new. At the same time I would also like to be used everywhere: Smallscale and largescale PvP.

I often hear that healers and tanks are wanted. Tank is out of the question for me.

Warrior Priest, Shaman and Disciple of Khaine:

I find both classes interesting. Both are healers, but can also be played as DDs.
If I play them as a healer, I can still level them in PvE and PvP?
Will I do at least some damage?
So as a healer?
Or do I really always have to be completely siwtch to a DD spec?

I simply have to like the look of my character. Ultimately, I want to participate in the game, i.e. all the facets that are on offer. So I have to choose a class that people like to take with them everywhere and can connect with.
If that wasn't the case, then I would play Which Hunter. But I don't want to play alone all the time.
Then my next alternative would be Shadow Warrior, because it doesn't have a pet like the Squig Herder. I don't like the micro-management of it.

Questions upon questions. I just don't want to invest time in the wrong class and would really appreciate your help and tips.

DPS dok/wp are not only gear dependent, no one is going to want you as a dps in their warbands for the most part.

DPS shaman, no one really wants that either. But at least on a dps shaman you can leech very effectively.

Solo melee is generally miserable in largescale.

My advice would be to play what you enjoy. You also have many character slots, so try everything if you want! RVR before 16 can be really fun too at least in my opinion.

Just to highlight a key word on the quote about SW, and the two stealth classes, that being "good" warbands. You'll be able to join pug WB's fine, which will probably be most of what you'll be doing before 40 anyway, and even then you might not care about sweaty pvp/RVR and just pug when you play for fun.

Basically you can play anything, unless you intend to be doing super organised pvp/RVR play, but that'll take you ages to get to due to needing good gear and good RR anyway and by that point hopefully you'll know what you enjoy and what you don't, if you even want to participate in those activities.

As you are already playing squiggie, I would recommend sticking with destro so that you can benefit from crafting i.e. one can make potions for the other, one can make talismans for the other etc.

With any of the healers, you're not gonna be wanted in a warband as DPS spec. Whilst they can be powerful damage dealers, they're not at the level of "true" DDs and mostly single target. Warband play is all about AoE! Beyond that, healers get a lot of grief if they join warbands or scenarios as dps. It's not worth the hassle!


That said, all healers are pretty awesome as DPS when solo or small scale. You tend to do pretty decent single target damage, plus you've got self-healing. Shamans / AMs also have a great kiting kit, making them very good 1v1.


Devs have said it takes an average of 40hours playtime to hit cr40/rr45, so as others have said, try out a bunch of different characters and see what you enjoy. Mix up the gear you buy whilst leveling so you can try out each spec for yourself, e.g. alternate between healing and dps sets as you rank up. That way, when u hit 40 and sets start costing a decent amount, you can make a more informed choice and buy what you most enjoy first. If you get into the game enough and get hooked, you'll end up buying healing and dps sets anyway!

SH is very solid. easiely to top raged class you can fit into every 6man as well as being easily able to swap to melee for WB.

For healers i can't recommend anything because i did not play my dok and shamy (both 70+) after the rework.

yes you can dye your armor how you want. with the limitation of what parts of your chosen armor are actually dyable.

Please excuse my late reply. I have read a lot in the forum here. I can try everything up to 16, after that it gets a bit more time-consuming. That's why I'm trying to decide which class I should play. My SH is fun, but I'd prefer SW because I don't really like pet classes.

Otherwise I like Which Hunter best, but what should I do with a class that doesn't get me anywhere? I like classes that I can play 1vs1 or 1vs2 with.

It's similar with the shaman, who I would like to play as a DD. but, you know
If I were to choose the shaman, I would gladly be taken into groups as a healer. What if I'm traveling solo? Do I still do any damage then? Or do I have to swap between DD and healer specialization, if that's possible?

In order to have fun with RoR and find connections everywhere, I have to choose a class that is used everywhere.

So I have no choice but to play a pure DD class. What would you recommend: my SH or SW?
SH only does AoE in melee combat and I want to play in ranged combat.

I don't know why you're hellbent on 1v1 and soloing, it's really not that great and I say that as a WH. I can 1v2 and even 1v3 if I'm against really weak players but there's also a lot of downtime and miserable deaths...
If I had to chose a ranged class I'd go with the bright wizard but if you want solo roaming + warband go SW.
