According to your subjective experience, which are the 3 sequences of abilities to maximize burst damage in a timeframe of:

• 3 seconds ? (3 GCD)

• 6 seconds ? (5 GCD)

• 10 seconds ? (7 GCD)

You can consider that each class had time to ramp up (magi/engi pet buff, choppa/slayer rage, etc.) or debuff (Z talon, SM spirit debuff, etc.) before burst. Also consider RR80 in bis gear.

Magus can probably dish out the highest burst of all classes.

I would imagine it being wl, squig herder or magus. (Can't say for sure how much they can burst).

For context I've managed to do ~10k 3s with zealot (with talon ofc).

Thunderous Blow + Pulverize + Guillotine on armor debuffed target...

Been awhile, as I`ve been playing dest to help balance, and took a 2-year break, but my BW a couple years ago had a 3 s burst of 9789, might be lower now with all the changes.

Isn't BW rotation 5s, due to BB delay?

It is hard to say.

In 6 seconds (5 GCD) Sorcerer can do good (let's assume that Obsessive Focus debuff is on):

Chillwind - Vison of Torment - Word of Pain - Impending Doom - Hand of Ruin

This leads to great 1-2 sec bomb, but it is not the highest 6 sec burst out there.

If I had to pick, that would be White Lion with Primal Fury buff active:

Force Opportunity - Coordinated Strike - something - Cull the Weak

WL with buff up, just ask every gobbo with 10k health when they get pulled =p

I think guys misunderstood the question of OP. The question was not about the highest 3/6/10-sec burst statistically but what would be the highest burst if all the damaging abilities would need to be used within that timeframe (debuffs/buffs can be used beforehand, as OP has said). I.e. whilst magus would deffo win 3-sec burst competition statistically (i.e. dots would already be applied & ticking before the said 3 sec window) - he would pretty much be at the bottom of the list if he had to APPLY dots within that 3 sec window.

So, 3 categories as per the OP:

1. For 3 sec category I'd give my vote to a 2h BO attacking a cloth wearer (BO with all build up abilities used, inclusive of armor debuff), easily ~8k or slightly more within that 3 sec window (if everything crits ofc), the GCD-triggering abilities would be: a)Chop fasta; b)Shut yer face (with tactic); c)Stance-swap+KD; d)Out-of-gcd 2 white AA hits.

2. 6 sec - prior to heals rework I'd say that DW DOK would easily win in this category...nowadays - dunno, likely a glass-cannon WH (or even a BO again, same rotation as above followed by 3 hit combo)

3. 10 sec - Id put my bet on a pet-based WL tbh, cant imagine anyone else doing more damage in 10 sec (remember, with no dots/delayed damage applied beforehand). 10s is just enough to make the full use of leonine frenzy & primal fury
