Windows 7. Downloaded the game from the torrent from the installation guide. Got the RoRInstaller.exe and data folder (here's what it contains):

Installed, got RoR folder, removed write protection. Here's what final folder contains:

Now running launcher as administrator should be good right? It starts, goes as (0/1), (1/2) 50% downloading and freezes at this point, and like this each time I restart the launcher. Log says a lot missing files, but I never had those to start with? Something went wrong with the installation?

This issue has popped up a few times over the last 2 years.
Best fix seems to be to use a VPN to change your region. This has fixed the issue for many people, myself included.

If you are from Russia then use vpn because most internet providers have started blocking online games, even on Steam, and this has affected RoR.

It's funny, this didn't affect servers located in Hungary.
