Return of Reckoning

Coming back to ROR after about a year break. I have a Fresh 40 Choppa, rr 41 and I'm happy to see new content, is it worth pursuing?

Jewels: Vale, Beastlord, Sentinel, and Bloodmoon boyz ring
Weapons: Plunda, Cleava of the Smuggler

I noticed an upgrade to BS (New rings) and a new dungeon Lost Vale.

Do I have a good build, should I continue to grind war crests for Sov and ignore new content or should I finish BS and start LV? I mainly play SC's and also some RvR.

Darkpromise is not a real upgrade over that set due to a lack of ws / armor pen. Your next upgrade is either full invader, 5 sov - 3 tri or just waiting for bis 5 sov - 4 tri. That said you can get the LV armor pen ring from there which is an upgrade for the 1 non set jewel you are wearing.

I think what you have is fine and good until you get Sov. I would work on the Sov first, as some hints have indicated that the PVP Ring and Set (Triumph) may be in for some future adjustments. Would also get the Melee Power Cape/Jewel from LOTD.

How can you have 900 str and 852 ws with RR 41?

Both stat tactics + sent, hv, and beastlord all socketed for ws sounds correct for those numbers Paoz.

^What he said. It's a pretty fun build, credit to this forum I found it by reading and piecing together what vets were suggesting at the time.

The only downside is 70 Toughness, you die really fast. Glass cannon build.

70 is actually high for a level 40 choppa. Most run around with sub 40 toughness before buffs.

Can one build a Choppa somewhat "tanky / bruiser"?

You could until the recent patch by not using the tactic DontWannaLiveForever (-120 toughness) and wearing Defensive Sov gear (+Toughness, +Armor).

The recent patch made it that Choppa Yellow state has -25% Armor/Resistance, which makes it too dangerous to play in the 'yellow' where in the past you could without the additional mitigation penalty. Trying to run this build now you die very easily to WH Pistol Whip / Burn Away Lies if solo and if in a WB (all the AOE spam). Probably somewhat viable in 6v6s content since you can still hit decent damage but the KD/Punt strat.
