When you say 2h tanks are manageable, do you refer to all 2h tanks or to specific builds? I ask because I guess offensive 2h tanks should be easier than bruiser-specced ones (with lots of parry and decent levels of regen).nat3s wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 8:45 am I personally prefer a different setup to the above, here's my armoury:

And build:
RoR.builders - Witch Elf
And renown:
https://builder.returnofreckoning.com/r ... ;0;0;0;0;4
Gets you to 3k armour, 450 toughness, 456 regen, 800 strength, 45% parry.
I think Heart Seeker stun is overrated, its only 3s and DRs with Disarm/Silence which are both 4s. So open on a melee, use disarm on first parry, when you open on a caster, use silence.
For dot classes like AM and RP, switch out 600 absorb tactic (doesn't proc on dot crits) for Close Combat instead. For AMs, you can also switch out Taste for Blood for Alignment of Nag which gets you 700 spirit resist (c41% dmg reduction) which on top of the 25% dmg reduction from Close Combat makes their dots much more manageable. Spam Sever on cd for AM/RP to clear buffs/hots/shields.
Toughest fights will be a RP (armour+tough build), AM (tough build), WL (parry/regen build) and parry WH (75% parry build). You also wont be killing any healers as you do tickle dmg. 2h tanks are manageable, shield tanks are effectively a stalemate.

Currently running 5/4 WL/vic with gen jewels. Half armor half str talis. It's a bit more offensively slanted than the normal def builds because I find they lack damage usually. Comes out to about 2500 armor, 350 tough, 980 str, 53% parry, 9k hp.
Brute Force, Kiss of Doom, Sac Rewarded, mark of hellebron tactics.
Pretty much use the same renowns as the guy above me.
I take heartseeker. It's got good scaling and taking it means you have a disarm/silence and a kd available.
Most of your power comes from activating witchbrew with kiss of doom and mark of hellebron. The build takes you to 60/40 on most things. WL/WH/2h tanks can still be a tossup. The runepriest matchup gets worse.
ToB is good in the build. I'd be hard pressed to drop either SR or MoH for it so I might try dropping bf for it tbh. I definitely notice more procs. I believe it's a .25s internal cd and the mark takes you to .75s AA with the 1.5 weapon. It makes a huge difference for sustain off kiss of doom.nat3s wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 12:23 pmNarfii wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 10:32 am Just recently swapped over to def from off for the last year.

Interesting setup, presumably you're running low crit right so the dmg diff is between 800 str and 980 str + using Mark of Helle, I think Taste For Blood last time I math'd it out was a bigger dmg increase over higher str and Mark. I also find Mark doesn't increase proc rate as much as you would think from a 50% AA buff.
Used to use a 1 point Ruthless Assault to trigger all Witchbrew procs at once, but the range nerf on it with the mdps patch made it less useful to kite that way, now I just consume Witchbrew from regular attacks, you still consume them all before the 10s CD is up on Witchbrew, just feels less bursty.
What regen does that setup give you?
