Return of Reckoning

Hello everyone, I have decided to return playing RoR after a long pause (stopped playing more than 4 years ago), and to be honest I almost forgot everything about my character: a Chosen LVL 40 Renown 54

I was pretty active back in the day and I did achieve a good progression, but the path was still long and so I have lots to catch-up with.
What I recall was that I wanted to be a pure Tank, so I was using Sword + Shield. Mainly playing RvR but I did also play Scenarios, and I was having lots of fun.

This is the build I have last used with my Chosen:

- Renown: Cannot post any planner, but I have Reflex T2, Defender T3, Deft Defender T3, Futile Strikes T2 and Vigor T1.

What I wanted to ask if this build is still viable? Any important change/update I need to be aware of? Do you have an updated build for a Chosen Tank to follow?
I also do remember an Add-on that was creating a one button sequence of multiple skills. For example, if I press the same button for one time, it was doing Skill 1, then the second time it was performing Skill 2, and so on. I don't recall such Add-on and to be honest I am not sure if it's still around, or if it is still a good method to reduce the amount of skills on my bar, etc. Any suggestion you can give me, it will be much appreciated!

Welcome back. Chosen sword and board is in a good spot and if you used to enjoy it you should still.

On your build, check that you don't mean mixed defences tactic instead of corruptive power. Mixed Def is pretty mandatory (a while ago it changed position on the skill tree). Otherwise your build looks pretty decent. At RR70 you can choose between getting quake and two extra auras or going all three auras. That may just depend on the kind of warband you end up running for.

And did we have the capacity to record different builds when you were here last? If not it's a lot easier to change builds now. Check out the trainers for a new option to record a build.

Also there's now an interaction between your auras and some skills, so check carefully how your auras affect a skill. For example check out oppression so that running two corruption auras will get your 15% reduction in damage for the group to go for 9 seconds instead of 5. Also make sure you check Blast Wave, to get the wounds reduction you have to have a right aura up.

The RR looks fine. It's just a matter of building up as you go, though block is the thing it's hardest to build up for Chosen.

I think you mean nerfedbuttons addon? If so it's banned. There's an addon called sequencer which will do a much more limited job of sequencing a few skills. Prob best to play with it on the dummies to work it out.

The build as I have posted it, it's the actually build I have and I did use back in the day, so yes, I was going with Corruptive Power meanwhile Mixed Def wasn't selected. I don't know why and to be honest I don't even remember where this build is coming from. Before posting here I did search on the web (YT, Reddit, this forum as well, etc.) but I couldn't find any proper Chosen Tank build, only 2H builds for which I am not interested at all.

I am not sure I understand your question, is it something like having multiple builds to switch whenever I want? If so then no, the build I have posted it's the only one I have used. It's great to know there is such feature nowadays, definitely useful!

Ok, I am not gonna lie but for now this sounds Chinese to me Too much time has passed from the last time I have played so I am lost, and I need to figure out everything from scratch. I have also did think to start a new character to remember again how to play etc, but I don't want to give up on my Chosen, especially with a Renown level of 54.

Do you have any Chosen Tank build I can rely on? Do you know what kind of skills I should prioritize first? A sort of rotation or something. Because there are quite a lot skills and I don't remember what they do and what should I use and when.

Probably best is to check this guide which goes through a lot of Chosen skills etc in a warband setting. It'll answer skills, builds at different RR levels and so on. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wLq ... it?tab=t.0

Recording builds can now be done at any trainer, just have a looks and you'll see. You can only change builds at a trainer (trainers are in keeps top floor now as well as in cities).

On the ways auras affect skills. So you set three auras, like resist, tough, heal etc. Look also at the skills you can use, like Oppression is influenced by the aura to be better. For example, Blast wave now does damage but if you are running at least one aura from teh Discord tree (like the resist aura) then blast wave will also reduce wounds in order. So the auras you run affect skills. Have a of the skills and it'll get there. It was a bit weird to get used to but now I use it a lot and swap auras around depending on situation.

I hope that guide I posted will have everything you want in detail. Have a look but feel free to ask questions or if you see me in game (Deleuze) pm and happy to talk if I'm not busy trying not to die.

PS Edited to add: that guide is waiting to be updated as there were changes in items and their quality a little while ago and there's more changes coming. But at your level it shouldn't make much diff to items, and the advice on builds, talismans, skills should be fine.
