Return of Reckoning

Hi there,

as a new player I made it as a brave dwarf to level 16. First thing I learned is that looking like a chicken in RvR is no evil Goblin hex, just a sign to move on
With my newly 16 I jumped in a RvR zone, I don't remember the name, but this was strange and cool at the same time. So many people! I just followed the leader did my best to heal everyone, that was Ok. I have no idea what the commands meant "going WS" or something like that, but following the big pack was nice and a feeling of a real big battle. At some point the leader shouted a command, everyone disappeared and I had no idea where are the warband went to. I asked and was removed from the group. But this is Ok, I don't expect hand holding for a newbie in a random group and I had my fun.

To my questions:
1) From 16 now on, I read that sewers is a good starter for a gear set. What would be a good idea for leveling? More doing scenarios as RvR? As a former WoW player leveling == PvE is still in my brain, but I got it that RR is more important as CR, so my plan was to skip PvE. The thing with RvR is there is so much going on for a newbie. And I am feeling a bit as the toddler, sweet 16 and all these 40. I don't want to be dragged through content, I want to contribute what I can in my small level.
2) Is there any PvE content that is wise to do? Special quest chains that offer something I should not miss or so?
3) Ah and a third one which confused me. From my understanding the gear at the war camp vendors I need to buy special peaces in T1 to unlock T2 and so on. Here on the forum I read that low level items for war crests can be skipped. But when I skip them, I will not be able to buy T4. Confusing...

PVE content -

1) Do sewers, for sure. It's a dungeon, awards lvl 17-18 level healer set.

2) At around lvl 23 you should look for so called "Mayhem farm". It means farming lvl 21-26 (?) Hard+Normal PQs, usually it's Chaos Gate (name?) in High Pass. Will need some kind of party for that (at least have tank). The PQ's give Mayhem Set pieces (healer lvl24-26 iirc) in gold bags. Missing pieces you buy for blue tokens. Vendors for blue tokens are in Altdorf SE corner (big open space).

3) At around lvl 33 you should do the same for Ruin Set (~lvl 35 healer). Again, PQs, this time OrcWorks (name?) in Eataine.

4) Buy cloaks, weapons and jewelry from Renown vendors, this is Altorf SW part, open space below training dummies.

5) Also do your best to be slotted with talismans. Buy +11 or similar from AH, usually 1-3 gold per. If desperate, just ask for talis (not gold!) in general chat. I for one send lowlevel talismans for free if someone asks.

6) For gear you might also do regular PQ's (influence farm), but this is very time consuming, esp as solo. Not recommend unless that's your thing.

RVR tips.

As for getting lost, make sure you have a way to see a tooltip on warband members. For example, if you downloaded "Enemy addon" raidframes, then alt-mouseover is tooltip. Tooltip will say which zone a player is in. Check it for leader. Also, group finder screen, it says which zone is your WB if you mouseover on it.

Remember that this is different to Wow, in a way that resses and battleresses are fast and unlimited. Do not release spirit the moment you die. Try to keep calm and check where the leader is, whether or not it is a full wb wipe. If it's only 1-2 ppl dead, you're probably getting ressurected soon. Look in WB chat, if leader says "rel" - then you release. Releasing for no reason is major cause of you being hopelessly separated from WB.

Keep defense. Say you joined wb, and see that they are all in friendly keep. Try to run to this keep. Probably you'll die near walls. Ask for res in WB chat. If no signs of you being ressed anytime soon, release. Run to nearest (to warcamp) battle objective, see if you can pick up a box. If yes, bring this box to warcamp, near the entrance will be an NPC "keep flight master" (dwarf with propeller) - speak t him while having a box, he'll teleport you to keep. At some point may also just ask in wb chat if there's any chance at you getting into keep. Sometimes you just can't, dont feel too bad about it, nothing you can do, leave WB and wait till the winds shift.

Call for "funnel " - it means all wb has to stand and defend some entrance (door). Two letter calls are most likely Battlefield Objectives, or Zone change (DW, KV, TM ect) but just follow the crowd. Ignore everything about ram, oil, cannons, just don't touch any of it, these calls are not for you. Watch where WB leader is, stay close to walls, do not release for no reason if die. "CR 30+" in WB description (read them) means that only levels 30+ are accepted.

As healer, you must always stay in backline. It wasnt that important in T1, but it is now. If see enemy warband, you do not dismount and start healing. No, you watch the leader, does he retreat or engage. Major cause of deaths at first will be you misunderstanding do we fight or do we run. If it's a fight, again see leader, what is the engage angle, so you know where will be the backline. You ride to backline and only then start healing.

In fight, very often your WB will kinda disengage and retreat. It is important for you to not miss this moment, stop casting and retreat too, otherwise you die. But if die do not release.
