Anyone else remember this back when WAR was live and this was coming out and would kill WAR because of its amazing PvP?

http://store.steampowered.com/app/287920/

I remember trying the demo. Logging into a crappy looking world and running around trying to find anything interesting. I spot a rabbit and start swinging: nothing happens. I walk off somewhere and climb a hill. Minutes later, I get this:

You hit rabbit for 1HP
You hit rabbit for 1HP
You hit rabbit for 1HP
Rabbit hits you for 5HP
You hit rabbit for 1HP
Rabbit hits you for 5HP
Rabbit hits you for 5HP
etc...
You are dead

And I keel over miles away from that rabbit. :P

I also remember they offered loads of exclusive collector edition boxsets that quite a few people bought.

Anyone here seriously play it?

Depends on your definition of seriously. I never payed for it. Played it for like 5-6 months.

Once you understand what's happening it's actually pretty cool, looks like **** though and a bit clunky.
There are alot of things that the tutorial doesnt teach you, you just kind of have to learn by yourself.

And the starter zone should be avoided, it's basically where everyone that has played for a while goes to kill new players cus they dont want new players I guess.

Was mildly successful in the game, got over 200g, joined a pretty serious guild that had built their keep just around where alot of players came to farm butchering. So alot of PvPing.

The PvP is pretty good*

*If you pay for it. F2P can only get 60/100 in skills, so they cant be as effective in combat as players who pay which can have 100/100.

Been playing it since release. Absolutely love it. It's a very very very VERY rough game on the outside, but if you can sit through all the rough edges, there is a diamond in there somewhere. :)

Tried it a few times...altough before it was updated in the last decade...
It seemed like a Morrowind-MMORPG (not just because of the graphics) but it was not really like I expected it to be.

Apperently it was more of a mess than a game when I played it..and if you read the reviews now, it seems it's not very different from then. Especially if your a free2play user.
The aspect to create a game besides those themepark mmorpgs is great but there's a lot to consider before you release a game. Maybe i'll give it another shot some time but only if there's no Darkfall 1 comeback.

Boogiewoogie

Its the only game after Eve online that worth subscription. They also have 30 day "Plex" item - D. u. e. l.(Do U Even Lift) so its really not a big issue. Also its the only real non-target game thats actually good. All these fakes like ESO still have targeting in them while DF UW is more like shooter when in ranged combat.
They have Ships, cannons, catapults and mount combat.

Never played Darkfall but I do remember all the posts and videos posted after its release. Gave me some laughs.
Though Eve is a different subject. I done the trial a few times and play it non stop. Just the thought of how hardcore the game is amazing enough. Its just when I think more about it and how much life I will give to the game its hard for me to stay with it lol.
