Return of Reckoning

Hai,

I plan on playing a SnB DPS Swordmaster in Tier 3 and later Tier 4. Basically it is going to be an offtank spec. The spec would get its defence from using a shield, investing in evasive defenses (to make guard less of a liability due to low investment in wounds), and slotting toughness in any 2nd armor/weapon slot. Its offence would be just a focus on strength on gear (slotting str tallies in 1st armor/wep slots and eventually dps sov set). I made this build with the following assumptions:

- Trivial Blows will either not be available or be available in a nerfed version, making it no longer a must-have investment.
- The recent switch of knockdown in Vaul tree to 9 pts is there to stay.

I never played a SM on live and am curious whether this is a viable way to play a Swordmaster late game. Also i would like to see other people' s SM/BO specs

The problem with discussing sm/Bo specs is that we know that the 2 classes are going to be changed but we don't know how their fore it's hard to anticipate what abilites will become good

With this I could off class or snb but I prefer snb b/c of the 20% dmg reduction

I remember a few very very good snb dps SM's on live, while i never tried it myself i did duel them on my dps snb BO and found it very difficult to beat them (although Grulo will tell you its not so difficult ).
Also may be hard to imagine but on my shaman the only player that actually had me worried was a dps snb SM, 3 rr 100's wh's no worries but this dps snb sm scary.

Haha that very video is the reason I am playing a SM right now

dont be better to focus on weaponskill at renown,in contrast with Might(strength)
you will get little parry bonus + 30-35% armor penetration

a big part of Sms dmg is spiritutual so armor pen isnt as a big deal

I was snb swordmaster. I was specced 14 into Vaul, getting Crashing Wave and Crushing Advance. 6 into Hoeth, with Bolstering Enchantments. The rest went into Khaine to get Sapping Strike.
Rotation went something like this: 1st stance, Gryphon's Lash or Encorcelled Blow. Improved stance, Quick Incision, Eagle's Flight or Crushing Advance. Perfect stance, Dazzling Strike, or Blurring Shock. Tactics: Bolstering enchantments, Potent Enchantments, Impeccable reactions, Encorcelled Agony.
Morale 1: Demolishing Strike. Morale 2: Raze or Shield Wall. Morale 3: Bladeshield. Morale 4: Immaculate Defense

Something like this. Tactics are more fluid. I had several sets I could choose from.
