connect button is greyed out even after running at admin, error message is received shortly after.

They're probably still working on that memory leak. He's doing another dump, i know the last one failed. This one will prolly work and they can get to the root of the lag problems since it's not due to the high population directly, only exposed a memory leak in the server code. Makes sense. Best of luck to them, i'll be waiting for the server to come back.
