That is as far as I am able to get. The download went fairly smooth but when it prompts me to select a race I cannot.

Any Ideas?

Hi, there it should load the races for you so I would think taht you game client needs to be re-downloaded in case of damaged game files.

Let it sit at the screen for a few minutes. I've seen it before where the 'logos' will rotate for about a minute or two before they populate.

Probably same deal as character screen not showing characters for extended periods. The avatars seem to have long delays in resolving.

I wonder if this is in any way affected by lag? Are the initial chargen models popping up directly tied to a latency-affected association that must be made on the server side? In that case, NA ppl would see this more than EU ppl. As a NA person, I do see character screen avatar resolution take quite a while (often, hopping back between pg 1 and pg 2 of char screens fixes it, but this is of no use at char creation), pretty much as a rule, lately. Sometimes I even quit game and reload at character screen if it takes too long.

As ppl suggested above, I suggest looking to see if you have damaged files, but some of this may just be intrinsic to the game. Try backing repeatedly out of the chargen screen and re-entering it to see if it "shakes loose" the race/character models.

can someone please tell these new players the games unplayable at this current stage?

EU brought the talent and resources to stand up a server. Why hasn't NA done it yet?
