so , i suppose devs can keep runing this "project" as long as they dont get any money from it ... But let s face it , they (actual devs) need support and ressources to make things better ( get out of "alpha phase" before 2030) , dunno how many devs we have total working (coding and all this things) on this , but on the ressources side ( buying new stuff to increase server performance and population capacity) , i just had an idea ... why dont we all become devs (or some sort of) , thus , we could invest our own money in the game , i mean like using your own money to buy new hardware for server performance is allright ? right ?

So , is it possible ?

how many times must the devs say no before we must all realize that it is what it is

nothing can be done but to accept that no money can be in any way given no matter what ever loophole we try to come up with

I don't understand the "we aren't accepting money because then this could be potentially shut down" argument. Look on the main page of this website - it has an advertising section. Guess what, that advertisment is making way more money than on some random worthless blog - there are actually alot of ppl coming to this site.

Basically - the "we're non-profit not taking a dime" argument is already out the window. If EA/GW wants to shut this down, the ammunition is already on that front site - war is being used to bring ppl to the site - and the site has an advertisement on it.

I just don't get the hypocrisy here.

I´ve read a lot now and maybe I missed that Statement from the devs that if they are taking money it is a "shutdown" argument. Maybe someone can link that? I ve read that they dont want money, but did not see the reason for it. I also doubt that it makes any difference if there would be a donate button or not when it comes to "Shut down". Anyway I think the devs know that there are a lot of players who would donate, but for some reason they dont want it, and I respect that since in the first place it is their project. Beside that, when it comes to money, it always complicating things.

I feel like there must be at least one knowledgeable accountant playing that can assist on the structuring side of things =p

I've wondered about that myself.

i don't think getting money for ads on a website from some company is the same as getting money from players for a game
