New player here !

Hi im a new player, i have downloaded the client with torrent and i donwloaded the launcher as well but when i put the launcher in the game client folder and try to conect nothing happen, i just click it and nothing is happening, also i need to say i didnt download the step 3 - version 1.4.8 , cause i cant i dont see any link, i skip to the step 4 and donwload the game client, can someone help me ? thanks
