Server Ping / Latency

Hey Guys,

First off, great server... I'm loving it so far and really happy to see the population is decent.

My ONLY issue is the lag I experience. I understand the servers are located somewhere in EU (I've heard london or paris), which is unfortunate as I am West coast canada. I experience pretty bad lag, and I'm really curious what my ping/latency to the server is. I'm trying to make tweaks to my network etc but its hard to tell if I'm making progress with not way to test my server lag.

Does anyone know of a way to show your ping in game? Maybe a mod even since there doesn't seem to be a built in ping/latency indicator?

NM, I believe I found the IP address of server (178.35.58.46 correct me if I'm wrong)

... and I'm getting a ping of 300 which explains my issue :( Not sure if I'll be able to keep playing with that high of a ping :(

Follow up question, has anyone tried or had success with something like battleping (http://www.battleping.com/)? Can it even be configured for private servers?

Try a VPN, I use PIA personally with it set to Southhampton, UK. Connecting from Detroit isn't bad 100-200ms.

Battleping is basically a VPN as well.

Thanks, just tried VyprVPN connected to a server in london... seems the best a vpn can do is knock off about 20ms ping :( oh well, guess I can dream for a NA server one day.

Ya, I'm not holding my breath at all for a NA server as I know that's extremely unlikely with the resources this team has. I'll more likely be waiting for a completely different private server that is NA based to pop up.

Until then, I hope queuing of abilities is something they implement to help us who are ping challenged to be able to achieve a decent ability rotation without delays.

Yeah asking for an NA server is a big think to ask, even if you don't consider their budget/capabilities. Server pop drops to like ~200 around 6:30 central time and who knows how many of those players are European anyways.

Wasn't and am not asking for a NA server. I'm well aware that horse has been beaten and its not in their capacity.
