All its missing is keep loot and that would quickly shift the focus back to RVR instead of farming PvE in my opinion.

Grind, as defined by doing what feels like actual work to get gear, isn't desirable. Working towards a goal in a game should be fun. The ideal is to have the gear as a motivator for players to do fun things (like big RvR) instead of having them farming freaking mobs.
This issue hasn't escaped my notice, but sourcing the current server issues must take priority over everything else, including incentives to RvR over grind.

If it was server resource driven, we'd have massive lag happening throughout the days following T2 release which was not the case. We had plenty more people on and no lag - it only started to happen that frequently last week or so.
