Maybe you are all right. I made this thread because, at the moment, death just feels so meaningless when it should be seen to be a massive failure. I have watched people let themselves be killed for the sole reason that they could not be bothered to walk back to the warcamp.
I wonder how far we'd have to dumb down the game mechanics before we remove death entirely and award players based on effort and "damage" dealt. We need the pugs to feel brave enough to enter the lakes after all
On a more serious note however, something like a leaderboard or performance ranking might work, as suggested above. That's not a bad idea.

About keep death well defendefer have too much pro ressing inside keep, this is dumb.
When outer is down if you die you just can resp and exit from inner.
I think this is a just a bad part of the 1.4 system which should be reverted in someway back to resp in wc only.

You forgot:
1. most of time defenders are outnumbered;
2. keep res are working only until 1st gate is crushed;
3. there is no def before 1st gate is crushed;
4. at this moment real def may be only on 1st gates because of the thinest point.
So at what stage you have problem with keep res?

Don't even bother reasoning with Tesqy, gave up on that idea long ago, esp. after saw him suggesting alternative zone lock mechanics and even siege towers - all to make the attacker numbers matter more.

Don't forget the travel time. Killing someone really knocks them back along the battlefield which gives you opportunity to advance. That's a real penalty if you knock off a few players in one hit.
But then again my first MMO was Ultima Online... so nothing WAR does will give me the true fear I felt for dying in that game! XD
