Does DoT damage snapshot?

Hi, sorry for this pretty basic question but I did some forum searching and read the stats thread and couldn't come up with anything.

When you use a DoT, are the ticks of damage pre-determined by the offensive/defensive stats at the time the attack is used (snapshotted) or are they calculated at the time of each tick? For example, on Marauder you can stack a DoT 3 times, and have a toughness reducing ability. If you apply one DoT, then another, then use the toughness debuff, then the third DoT, are the ticks of those DoTs different because the opponent had different defensive stats as each was applied? Or are they all in sync in the end because each tick takes into account the current defensive stats of the opponent.

Does this also apply to offensive buffs? For example, if between the above DoTs a Zealot gives you a strength buff, will this just affect the DoT after the buff was applied? Will it retroactively apply to the ticks from the previous buff? (That would be weird of course)

I'm sure this has been covered somewhere so if someone knows what thread it's in and can point me in the right direction that would be great :D

Armor debuff/buff, tough buff/debuff, offensive stat buff/debuff must be applied first to affect dots, but damage modifiers, crit damage/chance modifiers and initiative buff/debuff can be applied after the dot.

Also. I think it depends on class. I know for sure kotb, if you apply dot buffs from melee and abilities and then 'taunt' your target the pre-applied dots will automatically be affected by the taunt.

Im pretty sure if it applies to kotb it applies to all tanks. But most classes seem to follow the rule the 'debuff' needs to be applies first before the dot or other abilities will be affected

At the engineer all dots are calculated at the beginning with the damage modifiers there.

Lightning Rod and Napalm
Calculate it at every tic when they do damage.

To me it appears to be wrong, that when for example a BW casts ignite and then BB on you, that you can cleanse the resist debuffing dot but it wouldn't change BB damage, because it is already calculated. That detaunt doesn't work against applied dots according to the linked thread feels wrong, plain and simple.

Are there technical reason to alter the behavior compared to live?
