When you use a DoT, are the ticks of damage pre-determined by the offensive/defensive stats at the time the attack is used (snapshotted) or are they calculated at the time of each tick? For example, on Marauder you can stack a DoT 3 times, and have a toughness reducing ability. If you apply one DoT, then another, then use the toughness debuff, then the third DoT, are the ticks of those DoTs different because the opponent had different defensive stats as each was applied? Or are they all in sync in the end because each tick takes into account the current defensive stats of the opponent.
Does this also apply to offensive buffs? For example, if between the above DoTs a Zealot gives you a strength buff, will this just affect the DoT after the buff was applied? Will it retroactively apply to the ticks from the previous buff? (That would be weird of course)
I'm sure this has been covered somewhere so if someone knows what thread it's in and can point me in the right direction that would be great
