Re: test guard

Its statistically possibly but very unlikely and thats why your way of looking at it makes it a bit wierd, since it is a possibility and you choose to ignore it since its uncomfy to take that into consideration

Re: test guard

If you have 50 % block and 50 % parry you will have 100 % avoidance in an additive system (50 + 50). If you have 50 % block and 50 parry you will have 75 % avoidance with current system. Block = 0,5 *100= 50 and second roll for parry 0,5*50=25. Assuming no cap exist for avoidance. Really dont like ...

Really? Additive means + and i read his posts as in Parry + Block instead of Parry once and then Block once, as it is now. That would also mean just one defensive roll instead of two (in the case of snb). But lets see what Telen have to say about it.

Nekkma wrote: Thu Mar 28, 2019 12:14 pm What would making it additive for guarddamage even achieve? Defensive tanks are already tanky enough and do not need additional avoidance in situations where a 2h tank are useful.
I think it would mean less mitigation, and even less reason to use a shield.

Re: test guard

Except the first roll does not take away from the second roll at all. Two completely seperate rolls for the same initial purpose does not negate the defences you have accumulated, it just makes you tougher and toughner. Thats the keyword here, they are seperate but for the same purpose. Having high...

Re: test guard

what are you trying to prove so hard? Hes showing how high a parry rating you can reach and because of diminishing returns on multiplicative percentages that block becomes far less of a factor in guard avoidance. Except the first roll does not take away from the second roll at all. Two completely s...

Re: Amount of parry

it doesnt matter if which value comes first, if you have 30% block and 50% parry you will take in both cases 35% frontal meele dmg. No, you simply get one defence roll for 50% Parry and another defence roll for 30% block. That does not equal to a 35% dmg taken. So yet another person who dont know h...

50 pages later and im still convinced the whole change was bad, there was nothing wrong with the original iteration of guard. REVERT

Re: Patch Notes 23/03/2019

Then people are talking about different things because Hogun and Telen argues that the difference of the overall avoidance of guard damage between 2h and snb is to small. I agree, it gets very confusing and mitigation difference between 2H and SnB is huge. Its becoming quite clear however that very...
