    Weekend Warfront: Talabec Massacre

The forces of Destruction have struck deep into the heartland of the Empire, and in doing so they also threaten the autumn harvest. Some battles are won through bloodshed, others are won through starvation. The Empire has rallied its troops, and sent a plea for aid to its allies, in order to repel the invaders from Talabecland.

Control over the Talabec Dam is crucial to ensure that commerce and communication along the river remain undisrupted. Join your realm in the struggle over the Talabec Dam!

This weekend Talabec Massacre will be the weekend warfront from 12:00 on Friday to 12:00 on Monday Altdorf time. You get +50% XP and Renown in the Talabec Dam scenario, and extra rewards from completing the event tasks.

    Live Event: Pie Week

Pie Week has come! Toll the bells and throw open the city gates! Caravans of halfling bakers and traders ride into cities to sell their wares and earn a good coin off the hungry stomachs of the Old World. Esmeralda blesses all on this special celebration in her honor. The custom, which originated in the town of Saurapfel in the Moot, has quickly spread across human settlements in the Old World, but particularly in the Empire. Loosen those belt buckles, because Pie Week is all about eating your fill of all manner of pies and washing it down with tasty beer, Esmeralda wouldn't want it any other way!

The Autumn harvest is in full swing in the Old World. Farmers reap the bounties of the earth, as hard work and toil turns into food to feed empires and kingdoms. No where is the Autumn harvest celebrated with greater joy than the Moot. Halflings mark the Autumn Equinox with the celebration known as Pie Week, a celebration of thanks to their goddess of the hearth and home - Esmeralda. Halflings across the Old World use this opportunity to flock to human settlements and earn a quick coin feeding hungry mouths with delicious pies. Of course it wouldn't be a proper Pie Week without some silly games and baking contests, so join in the festive fun while the ovens are hot!

Pie Week will start on November 25th at 12:00 Altdorf time and last until December 5th 12:00 Altdorf time.

Pie Week is Return of Reckoning's newest live event which will join our annual rotation of live events. Our artists have made new trophies, new capes, a new mount saddle and magus disc, and a new custom hat for this live event. Our thanks to our artistic contributors for their continued dedication to RoR. We are continuing to test our new approach with mounts lasting longer depending on your renown bracket - your feedback on this system is welcome and appreciated. While permanent mounts are not something we are considering, we do recognize that players who invested more time in their character should reap better rewards.

+Basic reward: Golden Cockerel Stein - a new trophy to remind you that you experienced Pie Week too its fullest, and cannot remember anything after the 5th stein. Preview here
+Advanced reward: Fiery Cockerel Cloak for Order; Soiled Cockerel Cloak for Destruction - two new capes. Preview here
+Elite reward: Battle Ram, or Daemonic Ram Disc mount (decay timers based on renown bracket)
-Completing the Event Quest 'Applebottom's Pie' (Order) or 'Protector's Fee' (Destro) - Rumster's Rum an event slot item.
-Unconfirmed reports speak of apple trophies found in bobbing apples

    The Great Bake-Off
In addition to the new items that can be won through the in-game tasks, the Return of Reckoning team is proud to have its first-ever Baking Contest. Those who submit entries which meet the rules will earn the Chef's Wooden Spoon and Chef's Rolling Pin trophies Preview here, and the Picnic Blanket cloak (no preview available at this moment). Additionally one (or more? ) lucky top-baker will have the choice of winning the Halfling Chef's Hat Preview here How do you enter the Great Bake-Off? Head to this forum post and join the festivities. There is still plenty of time to enter, as the final time for entry submissions will be around December 2nd/3rd (TBD).

Pie Week Pies, Picnic Baskets, and Moot Silver Shillings
What would Pie Week be without pies or a picnic basket full of food? Certainly not a proper Pie Week. During Pie Week you can bake pies (i.e. 1-hour liniments) by gathering food from Picnic Baskets, which drop from players. Get the right combination of ingredients and head to the Pie Week baker merchants in Altdorf or the Inevitable City to buy an oven. Buying an oven will start the baking process (you didn't expect to turn ingredients into a pie instantly with a click did you?), which will say 'decaying in 10min' because changing the text to say 'baking' is complicated. After 10 minutes your express pie will be done and ready for your consumption! However, why bake one pie with one fish and one potato when you can bake 2, 3, or 5? Players will also drop Moot Silver Shillings, and you can buy multipliers with your Moot Silver Shillings to bake more than one pie with your ingredients. Names of existing/old liniments which have pie-themed names for Pie Week can found here.

It wouldn't be a new live event without some new themed dyes. We are happy to introduce 20 new dyes themed around the Halflings/Moot. Please be aware that these dyes are only available for purchase during this Live Event.

Dye previews are available here towards the bottom, but please be aware that the colors may apply differently on different base armor colors. We recommend to use an addon such as Pocket Palette to see how this dye will look on your armor. These colors were drawn largely from Citadel Paints, Games Workshop publications, and maybe food... We hope to continue to introduce new dyes based on inspiration from the source material in the Live Events to come.

    Live Event Shoppe
Multiple Pie Week themed vendors have popped up in the Altdorf War Quarters and Inevitable City Slaanesh Chambers (oh those poor lost halflings who stumbled into the Inevitable City... or is it the Slaanesh cultists who are the poor ones?). Four vendors sell pies for ingredients; one sells pies at a basic ratio of 2 ingredients for 1 pie, while the other three sell the same pies but with output multipliers so a single pair of ingredients combined with a multiplier can yield 2, 3, or 5 pies. Please check all four bakers and check what you want to spend your event resources on. Other vendors sell items for the LE currency 'Moot Silver Shillings' (which drop from player-kills), such as beer and dyes.

    Pie Week Quests
A couple new quests have been added for Pie Week. Six of these called 'Quest for A Pie' use our new race-specific portion of the quest system - meaning that each race has different tasks catered to their racial peculiarities. We hope to use this system more in the future, especially during live events so each race has a more unique take on the festivities. There are also two new branching quests for an event slot item - 'Applebottom's Pie' (Order) or 'Protector's Fee' (Destro); one branch focuses on PvP tasks from T1 to T4, while the other is PvE oriented. These branching quests are not required to complete the LE.

    Weekend Warfront: Slaughter Hills

Reikland Hills, a key point of defense in the guarding of Altdorf, have come under assault by the forces of the Raven Host. Those hills afford an excellent position from which a siege could be launched on the city. Make haste to the Hills and secure them for your realm!

This weekend the Slaughter Hills will be the weekend warfront from 12:00 on Friday to 12:00 on Monday Altdorf time. You get +50% XP and Renown in the Reikland Hills scenario, and extra rewards from completing the event tasks.

    - Fixed a bug in Sigmar Crypts which would cause the Arch Lector Verrimus to reset.

    Bug Fixes

20556 - Rhanz Folner had temporarily wandered off from his Southeast Altdorf post in search of "Rat-men" underneath the city. He's properly returned to his spot now, and of course, there are absolutely no rat-men hiding underneath Altdorf.

20550 - Dwarf starting quest "Fire in the Hole!" has had its rewards updated and improved to benefit all classes.

    Weekend Warfront: Howling for Blood

The war-scarred landscape of Black Crag rings once again with the sounds of battle as Order and Destruction forces descend upon the Howling Gorge. Here among the labyrinthine gorges, the struggle for control of a vital pass of ancient Karak Drazh threatens to flood the canyon with the blood of the fallen.

This weekend Howling for Blood will be the weekend warfront from 12:00 on Friday to 12:00 on Monday Altdorf time. You get +50% XP and Renown in the Howling Gorge scenario.

    - Warbands and parties can now properly switch from private to public, and will correctly display for others to join. The bug requiring you to completely rebuild a warband or group in order to make it public has been squashed. (Good riddance.)

    - Fixed a bug that required a Warband leader to be in the first party of the Warband, or else other players could not join it publicly. Now your warband leader can be a rebel and hang out in whichever group they think is coolest.

    - [20547] Shadow Warriors can now trade their Subjugator Falcata for either the offensive or defensive Fortress Weapon

Weekend Warfront: Assault on Black Crag

Karak Drazh was once among the mightiest Dwarf strongholds of the World Edge Mountains, but was taken by the Greenskins during the Goblin Wars. Strategically placed at the western end of Death Pass, it guards the approach to Karak Eight Peaks. Today known as Black Crag, it is the most powerful Orc stronghold.

This weekend Assault on Black Crag will be the weekend warfront from 12:00 on Friday to 12:00 on Monday Altdorf time. You get +50% XP and Renown in the Black Crag Keep scenario, and extra rewards from completing the event tasks.

    Group XP/Renown/Influence

The way XP, Renown and influence is split among group members has been changed to encourage grouping up. Previously it was split <amount> / <members>, this has been changed to <amount> / (<members> ^ 0.75).

So for example the split of a kill that would have given 600 renown total in old vs new systems:

    - 1 member: old 600, new 600
    - 2 members: old 300 each, new 356 each
    - 3 members: old 200 each, new 263 each
    - 4 members: old 150 each, new 212 each
    - 5 members: old 120 each, new 179 each
    - 6 members: old 100 each, new 156 each

Note that this only applies to renown that is split between group members. Static renown granted to players is same as before, for example zone locks, BO captures, end of scenario ticks etc.

    New Player Experience Quests

A new quest called 'Tokens of War' has been added in each chapter 1 area. This quest tasks players to do two easy Public Quests and awards them with War Tokens, afterwards directing them to the appropriate merchants in the capital cities so that new players can learn where they can exchange their War Tokens for armor or potions. This quest was a community suggestion, we thank you for your suggestions to help new players out.

The dye database overhaul is ongoing, though a large portion of changes mentioned weeks ago have gone into effect. Minor changes may occur in the future. Please note, no dev hours went into this - this rework was purely database work.

    Dye Rarities
Firstly, dye rarities and sell prices have been cleaned up. Before dye rarities had no system and were arbitrarily assigned, with some dyes having multiple items in the database and each one set to a different rarity. Likewise before most dyes sold for 1 brass (or didn't sell at all), while a handful of dyes sold for silver and the rare few sold for gold. Below is the new system.

    - Uncommon Dyes consist of all dyes from the database color range of 1-175. These dyes are worth 20 silver. In the future we would like to reintroduce the dye-making crafting profession (as part of the apothecary) which will craft these dyes.

    - Rare Dyes consist of the end range of Mythic dyes that were available at launch, and these dyes will be in the dye interface. These dyes are worth 50 silver.

    - Very Rare Dyes consist primarily of the dyes Mythic introduced in the 1.4 patch, along with a handful of dyes which sold for gold earlier, and some custom RoR dyes. These dyes are worth 1 gold. While some of the dyes that previous sold for 2 or 4 gold will lose value, the overall increase in dyes that sell for gold should offset this loss. Previously many of these dyes were unobtainable by players in RoR, whereas now they will be obtainable via 'end game' content (that is, PvE and PvP content for lvl 40 players). More on this below.

    - Mythic Dyes will consist of dyes that are only available during live events and cannot be acquire otherwise during the year. These dyes may be available once a year or once every 'x' years depending on how often we bring the live event back, so they are the rarest dyes on the market. These dyes will have no sell price at the vendor for two reasons. Firstly, we wouldn't want you to accidentally sell back your rare dye, and secondly some of these dyes are purchase-able with event currency (such as the Feast of Shoika dyes) and we would not want event currency to be convertible to gold by direct means (how players choose to value them and sell them in the in-game market is their choice).

Purple Rarity Dye Renaming and Availability
Many of the dyes introduced in the Mythic 1.4 patch have been renamed from their 40k names to more Fantasy appropriate names. We understand many players cherish the names associated with Citadel paints, but we felt it was rather strange to have names from another universe (or is it from the inside of a chaos giant's eye?) in the Warhammer Fantasy environment. The old names of dyes are noted in their descriptions for those who cling to the heretical past. Every 1.4 dye should now be somehow available to players (whereas before most were not.) Below you will find a list of the new dye names and where you can obtain them.

    - Butcher's Pass - Big 'Un Green (formerly Camo Green), Dwarf Flesh (tragic, we know), Tin Bitz, Swamp Green, and Go Fasta Red have a small % chance to drop from player kills during this fort siege.

    - Stonewatch - Thunderer Grey (formerly Boltgun Metal), Burnished Gold, Frostbeard Green (formerly Catachan Green), Dwarf Bronze, and Mithril Silver have a small % chance to drop from player kills during this fort siege.

    - The Maw - Dark Flesh, Changer's Herald Green (formerly Orkhide Shade), Fate-Weaver's Gold (formerly Tau Sept Ochre), Mindfire Red (formerly Baal Red), and Charred Flamer Flesh (formerly Leviathan Purple) have a small % chance to drop from player kills during this fort siege.

    - Fell Landing - Ice Blue, Ironfrost Glacier Grey (formerly Space Wolves Grey), Sea of Malice Grey (formerly Astronomican Grey), Hekarti Purple (formerly Hormagaunt Purple), and Naggaroth Abyss Blue (formerly Necron Abyss) have a small % chance to drop from player kills during this fort siege.

    - Shining Way - Elf Flesh, Sea Guard Turquoise (formerly Hawk Turquoise), Shining Gold, Cothique Blue (formerly Fenris Grey), and Tiranoc Blue (formerly Asurmen Blue) have a small % chance to drop from player kills during this fort siege.

    - The Necropolis of Zandri - Desert Yellow will have a small % chance to drop from player kills during this event. Additionally, Bleached Bone, Nehekharan Asp Leather (formerly Snakebite Leather), Nehekharan Sun (formerly Iyanden Darksun), and Khemri Brown are set aside for future LotD content.

    - Mount Gunbad - Five new dyes have been introduced to this dungeon and are tied to the repeatable quests associated with this dungeon. They are Night Goblin Red, Squig Orange, Night Goblin Yellow, Night Goblin Flesh, and Night Goblin Black. All colors are based on citadel paints.

    - Bilerot Burrow/Warpblade Tunnels - Bubonic Brown, Rotting Flesh, Vomit Brown, Oozing Boil Yellow (formerly Gretchin Green), and a new color 'Sewage Green' are tied to repeatable quests associated with these dungeons.

    - Bloodwrought Enclave/Sigmar's Crypts Though no 1.4 dyes are related to these dungeons, we would like to mention that the 5 dyes that previously sold for gold are associated with the repeatable quests for these dungeons. These colors are: Skull White, Chaotic Black, Ulgu Grey, Blood Red, and Blazing Orange.

    - Hunter's Vale - Kurnous Green, (formerly Dark Angels Green), Vale Doeskin Beige (formerly Kommando Khaki), Sapling Bark (formerly Calthan Brown), and Deepwood Shade Green (formerly Knarloc Green) are tied to four new repeatable quests associated with this dungeon. Asrai Blue (formerly RoR Cobalt Blue) can be obtained in the green bags of the PQ associated with this dungeon.

    - Bastion Stair - Molten Iron Yellow (formerly Sunburst Yellow), Bastion Stair Granite (formerly Charadon Granite), Skull Lord Ivory (formerly Dheneb Stone), Khornite Flesh (formerly Ogryn Flesh), and the new color Bastion Stair Crimson are tied to the repeatable quests associated with this dungeon.

    - Future Content - Skryre Glow Green (formerly Scorpion Green), Hellpit Flesh (formerly Tallarn Flesh), Blighted Marshes Brown (formerly Devlan Mud), Warpfire Green (formerly Thraka Green), and Toxic Green are reserved for future content. Keep the tinfoil hats off, despite the names of these dyes playable skaven are not in the future.

    - Other - Several other name changes are noted: Altdorf Guard Blue (formerly Ultramarines Blue), Old World Iron Grey (formerly Adeptus Battlegrey), Warp Gate Black (formerly the texture eating Badab Black which no sane person uses).

Dye previews of the 8 new dyes are available here at the bottom.

    New Renown Rank Milestone Bonuses

    - Renown Rank 70 Milestone Bonuses have been added to the game (retroactive)
    - Renown Rank 60 Milestone Bonuses have been added to the game (retroactive)

The final major Renown Milestone Bonuses are here, they’re customized per faction, and they’re retroactive!

For characters that hit Renown Rank 60/70 going forward, you’ll get a letter in the Mail that begins these short questlines.

For players who have already achieved these, head to the Records Keeper in your capital city of choice, buy their quest item(s) for 1 gold, and use it to begin the quest.

With Renown Ranks now covered from 10-80, this completes all of our planned Milestones. Given enough time and the right rewards, we may return to these in the future for players who go choose to go above and beyond RR80.

Until then, we hope everyone enjoys this new system and that both new and veteran players find it helpful!

    Quest Quality-of-Life Updates

Destruction: The repeatable Quests for Bilerot Burrow have been moved to the new NPC Ecibius the Warpedmind, who is located much closer to the BB Dungeon Entrance in IC.

Additionally, players can now take the repeatable Stalwart Soulstone quest for BB/BE from either Ecibius at the BB entrance, or from Tivlas the Kul at the BE entrance.

Lector Hans, who has the repeatable Stalwart Soulstone quest for CnT, now also exists at the entrance of the Sigmar Crypts Dungeon, so players can easily pick up this quest if starting their run at the Crypts. (No need to go find him under a tavern first.)

Additionally, Gothard Alexander, who has the repeatable kill quests for Sigmar Crypts, has been moved a few feet over and can be found just before descending the stairs to the dungeon entrance.

    Bug Fixes
    - Fixed an issue where new dyes introduced during Daemon Moon Decaying were not showing their names when a player dyed their gear these colors.

    Weekend Warfront: Ludos Daemonium

Daemonic cackles echo against the dark stony cliffs of an unnatural amphitheater. Daring adventures have been drawn, rather lured, into the Chaos Wastes at the height of the Daemon Moon. Voices cried to you, voices wanting to play a game with your lives. Show them you are no pawn.

The Daemonball Rally scenario is open for all characters of all levels! Defeat your enemies as the Chaos gods watch from above! Prove that you are not their plaything, but a force of your own will!

This weekend warfront Ludos Daemonium will be the weekend warfront from 12:00 on Friday to 12:00 on Monday Altdorf time. You get +50% XP and Renown in the Daemonball Rally scenario, and extra rewards from completing the event tasks.

    Realm versus Realm

    - When the current score is equal there will no longer be 2 pairings which are locked. Only the last previously captured pairing will remain locked.

    Public Quests

    - The Very Difficult Chapter 22 Public Quests now contain a Small Box of Forgotten Talismans in White Bags.

    Bug Fixes

    - Daemon Moon Masks' abilities fixed to work with game event instead of live event

    - Fixed Disciple of Khaine swords in vendors to be unique to this class. Before these swords were simply restricted to Dark Elves, so Black Guards could accidentally buy swords with will power and heal crit.

    - Fixed an issue allowing main-hand weapons being slotted in offhand slots for classes that should not have this ability
