Character and Guild Naming Policy

When creating a character or guild name, it is encouraged that you select a name that reflects the realm that you are located in. The guidelines listed below outline the types of names that you can NOT use, and apply to both first names and surnames, as well as guild names.
  • You may not use any names that violate the General Rules and Guidelines.
  • You may not use names that are harassing or defamatory to other players or staff.
  • You may not use names of copyrighted or trademarked characters, materials or products.
  • You may not use names from popular culture or media.
  • You may not use names that are religiously or historically significant.
  • You may not use proper names of areas within the game for character names. Guild names MAY use the proper names of specific areas, to help promote role-playing and realm pride.
  • You may not use proper names of NPCs within the game.
  • You may not use names containing titles or ranks within them.

  • You may not use names where a combination of the first and last names violates any of the above rules.
  • You may not use misspellings or alternative spellings of names that violate any of the above rules.

Harassment Policy

Our goal is to build a strong community that offers a comfortable atmosphere for all of our players. This means ensuring that players have the ability to combat antisocial behaviour.

Some tools created to achieve this purpose include the "Ignore Player" option and the obscenity filter. The "Ignore Player" (/Ignore) option permanently blocks all of an offending player's comments, and you can also choose to block certain offensive words through the WAR Obscenity Filter.

What is NOT harassment?
  • Anything considered a valid play style in WAR is not considered harassment. In other words, player killing of your realm's enemies is not considered harassment. By valid, we mean that there are game mechanics created around these play styles in WAR. Because WAR is a RvR (PvP) game, players should seek ways of protecting themselves against these play styles through game mechanics rather than calling on customer support staff for help in these cases.
What IS considered harassment?
  • Harassment in WAR involves intentionally misusing game mechanics to distress other players. Actions like blocking doorways or using macros aren't inherently harassment; it depends on the intent to disrupt others. Harassment also covers incessant, targeted, and derogatory behaviour. Genuine attempts to resolve the issue, such as leaving or asking the offender to stop, should precede reporting. Any hate speech is strictly prohibited, leading to immediate account suspension. Players should report harassment promptly through designated channels for investigation and action.

Account Security Policy

All account security is the sole responsibility of the person who registered the account. This includes hacking protection, password protection, virus protection, and anything else that has to do with computer or account security. If you believe that your account security has been compromised, please contact a Game Master.

Video and Streaming Policy

As a community content creator, you are permitted to create video productions and live streams and to distribute them freely on your website, or on other websites where viewers can freely view them provided that:
  • They do not contain any content that violates the Code of Conduct.
  • They must be free to access for the viewer. (although, monetisation through the platform is permitted)
  • You do not break the rules of any other website where the content is distributed.
  • You do not break the rules of any third parties.
  • You do not upload any content which may portray Warhammer Online or Return of Reckoning in a bad light. Please note that this directive is aimed at preventing unwarranted negativity; constructive criticism and feedback are always welcome and encouraged.

Reporting Guidelines
  • If you encounter a player you do not wish to engage with please block or ignore them, do not escalate the situation directly. You can report in game by right clicking in the chat and selecting the option “Report Message”, which automatically generates an in-game ticket for the Game Master. If they persist, please contact a Game Master.
  • If you find a bug please report it on our bug tracker.
  • If you require in-game assistance, please try one of our support channels on Discord.

Disciplinary Policy

A violation of the Code of Conduct may result in sanctions being taken against you. Depending on the severity of the violation and the player's past history, we may take the following actions after investigation:
  • Give you a warning
  • Restrict your ability to communicate
  • Prevent you playing certain parts of the game
  • The removal of your character's name
  • Deletion of your character
  • Temporary account suspension
  • Permanent account termination
These will be logged against the account and be taken into consideration with future violations.

If you're unsure if your actions violate this code of conduct, reconsider them. We reserve the right to restrict offending accounts as much as necessary to keep the game a fun experience for all players.
