I've been playing retail, then played some six years ago and now came back to the game. So i know the basics and intermediates but probably forgot more than i knew.

With that in mind, what are the most recent changes to SM? I've found that there was a tank rework last simmer, but couldn't find full ...

There's a caveat to remember - when people say 'warband play' they mean that the tanks are there to stand in line, shield front and receive damage. And as the shield is pretty much mentioned in the job description, it is considered superior spec.
It doesn't mean you can't be successful using 2h ...
