When you have to WIN X scenarios, especially for an event, it matters.
If the score is 375 to 120 in Serpent Passage, and there is a player running a flag in, then it matters if people surrender. And this has happened more times than I can count. I play for objectives and not just kills. Otherwise ...

I swear there are players who join scenarios who vote to surrender when their side is winning. I cannot tell how many times the score is 400 to 20 and my team surrenders when we are winning. Why did the cosmetic appearance for this change? It used to look like a Khorne shield, and then without warning it just completely changed appearance. Are there plans to turn it back?

Only people against it are Order.
Keep in mind other games do give buffs when one side is horribly overbalanced in PvP. Even this game has it with boosting people level 16 to level 40 in terms of simple ...

This approach has at least one major issue to it, and that is small-scale PvP.
If you buff players based on AAO, then effectively you completely kill the already small Solo, Small Scale and 6-men roaming community and will in my opinion even more encourage blobbing.

When one faction has 100 players in the zone and the other has 30, the other faction cannot capture and hold BOs, cannot run supplies, and get steamrolled. The buff from renown doesn't mean anything, and should get damage buffs or defense/health buffs, immune to knock back or stuns, etc. Otherwise ...
